The Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2026 application form has been released. The VITEEE 2026 exam is tentatively scheduled for April 28 to May 3, 2026, for admissions to undergraduate engineering programs at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). Online applications opened in October 2025 and close on March 31, 2026, with results expected in the second week of May 2026.

Seats
The VITEEE 2026 seat intake differs by campus and programme, with thousands of seats distributed across VIT Vellore, Chennai, Amaravati (VIT-AP), and Bhopal. However, competition remains intense—particularly for CSE, where an estimated 2.5 lakh+ applicants may compete for around 5,000 CSE seats across all campuses.
HOW TO APPLY
To apply for VITEEE 2026, candidates must visit the official website viteee.vit.ac.in and complete the online registration using their basic details. After logging in, they need to fill out the application form with personal and academic information, select their preferred test cities, upload the required photograph and signature, and pay the application fee (approximately INR 1,350 for general category). Once the application is submitted, applicants must book their exam slot through the Online Test Booking System (OTBS) before the deadline, which is tentatively around March 31, 2026, for exams scheduled in late April or early May.
The application form has to be filled in online mode. Follow the below-mentioned steps to fill out the application form.
Step 1: VITEEE 2025 Registration – Go to the official website and click on the new registration link for B.Tech admissions. Candidates have to enter the required details such as name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, email ID, and nationality. The authority will send the login ID and password to the registered email id of the candidates.
Step 2: Photograph and Signature Uploading – Candidates have to upload their photograph and signature.
Step 3: VITEEE Application Fee Payment – Candidates have to pay the application fee through net banking/Credit Card/Debit Card.
The application fee of INR 1350 (inclusive of GST) – for general candidates has to be paid via Net-banking/Credit/Debit card/Paytm. NRI students will have to pay 90 USD online using a credit card.
Step 4: Final Submission – Before submitting the application form, candidates should check all the provided details on the application form for VITEEE. Download and take a printout of the filled-in application form.

ADMIT CARD
The VITEEE 2026 admit card is likely to be issued in April 2026, about one to two weeks before the tentative exam window of April 28 to May 3, 2026. Candidates can download it from the official website viteee.vit.ac.in after completing slot booking by logging in with their email ID and password. The admit card is a mandatory document containing key exam details, so applicants must book their slots in advance and carefully verify all information after downloading.

3 – Enter the Application Number and Password and click on the ‘Login’.
4 – VITEEE admits card will be displayed on the screen once you log in.
5 – Take a printout of the same and keep it safe.
EXAM RESULT
The VITEEE 2026 results are anticipated to be declared during the second week of May 2026. Candidates will be able to access their results on the official website (viteee.vit.ac.in) by logging in with their credentials. The result will include key details such as your All India Rank (AIR), total score, and percentile, which are essential for B.Tech admissions. It is advised to carefully review the result for any errors or discrepancies and report them immediately if found. Shortlisted candidates should begin preparing for the upcoming counseling process based on their obtained All India Rank.

COUNSELLING PROCESS & CUTOFFS
The VITEEE 2025 counselling and admissions are already completed (results were declared on May 3, 2025), so the figures below represent the actual reported closing ranks from reliable sources based on 2025 counselling trends (primarily for VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai, the most sought-after campuses). These are approximate and vary slightly by round/category/specialization.
Expected General Rank Ranges
Top ranks (500–2,500): Typically require 90–113+ marks, making candidates eligible for Category 1 or 2 seats at VIT Vellore in top branches.
Mid ranks (2,500–8,500): Usually correspond to 60–90+ marks, with chances of securing CSE/IT under Category 2 or 3 at VIT Chennai or VIT Bhopal.
Lower ranks (10,000+): Candidates may still obtain CSE/IT seats at VIT Chennai, Bhopal, or Amaravati, or opt for other engineering branches.

Counselling Process
VIT University will commence the VITEEE counselling process. Qualified candidates will have to register and participate in the VITEEE counselling for admission into the participating institutes. VITEEE counselling will be held online and the process will consist of registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and confirmation of admission. VIT seat allotment will be done based on ranks, preference, and seat availability. If the candidates are not able to confirm their admission before the final date, then their candidature will be cancelled.

SELECTION PROCESS
1. Selection is based on the rank secured in VITEEE-2026 through Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Selected candidates can participate in online counseling based on their ranking. They can give options for specific campus, programme and category of fees. Allotment will be based on the rank obtained and available options.
3. VIT will verify the eligibility of candidates after completing the tuition fee payment on or before the stipulated date. Candidates are required to produce documents while reporting to the campus or as and when asked for, by the Office of Admissions. Provisional Admission offered during counselling will be valid ONLY if the eligibility is fulfilled.
EXAM SYLLABUS
The VITEEE 2026 syllabus includes important topics from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English, and Aptitude. The duration of the examination will be 2 hours and 30 minutes. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions and one mark for the right answer and zero for the wrong answer. There will be a total of 125 questions divided into the section Maths/Biology (40 questions), Physics (35 questions), Chemistry (35 questions), Aptitude (10 questions), and English (5 questions). The question paper will be in English only.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The VITEEE 2026 eligibility criteria define the required academic qualifications and age limits for admission to VIT’s B.Tech programmes. Candidates are advised to check and confirm their eligibility before applying to prevent any risk of disqualification.
Nationality
The applicant for VITEEE should be a Resident / Non-Resident Indian National / OCI / PIO Holder.
NRI applicants can directly apply under ‘NRI Category’ through NRI application form.
Foreign applicants who studied/studying abroad can apply directly through the International application form. (Will be available shortly)
Age Limit
Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2004 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2026.
The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic.
Applicants should produce this certificate in original as proof of their age at the time of counselling/admission, failing which their candidacy for admission will be disqualified.
Education Qualification
Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2026 should have either completed or shall be appearing in any one of the following qualifying examinations in 2026
1. The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or any other Board accepted by VIT as equivalent to 10+2 examination.
2. Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
3. General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
4. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University/Pearson Edexcel regulated by UK For PCM : Physics & Mathematics – A Level/ Chemistry – A/AS Level and English – A/AS Level
For PCB : Physics & Biology – A Level/ Chemistry – A/AS Level and English – A/AS Level
5. High School Certificate Examination of the International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
For PCM : Physics & Mathematics – HL, Chemistry – SL/HL
For PCB : Physics & Biology – HL, Chemistry – SL/HL
6. Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with minimum of 5 subjects as recognized by central board.
7. Applicants who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India should produce an equivalence certificate to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination with grade/CGPA converted to percentage.
Note:
Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full Time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply. Candidates who have appeared for multiple board examinations in the same academic year are not eligible.
For Indian nationals attending VITEEE 2026 is mandatory to be eligible for B.Tech. admission.
In case VITEEE 2026 gets cancelled due to natural calamities or causes beyond the control of the institute, qualifying criteria may be substituted with higher secondary marks. Applicants shall be informed accordingly.
Requirement in the Qualifying Examination
1. Applicants should be qualified for admission to collegiate education.
2. Applicants applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2026 should have passed with minimum aggregate of 60% of marks in Mathematics (M), Physics (P) and Chemistry (C) and with not less than 50% in Mathematics in the qualifying examination (+2/HSC/Intermediate). Refer admission eligiblity criteria for admission to B.Tech. programme.
3. Applicants applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2026 should have passed with minimum aggregate of 60% of marks in Biology (B), Physics (P) and Chemistry (C) and with not less than 50% of marks in Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/HSC/Intermediate). Refer admission eligiblity criteria for admission to B.Tech. programme.
4. Applicants applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2026 should have passed with minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics (P), Chemistry (C), and Mathematics (M) / Biology (B) in the qualifying examination (+2/HSC/Intermediate) for the following categories :
Applicants belonging to SC/ST
Applicants hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the Northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. Certificate to prove community / nativity should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
Qualifying Marks
1. Candidates appearing for the VITEEE should have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics /Biology in the qualifying examination (Intermediate).
2. The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (Intermediate) put together should be 50% for the following categories (Candidates belonging to SC/ST Community & Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir / Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura).
