ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The SBI Clerk  Exam requires candidates to be aged 20–28 years as of April 1, 2025, with a graduation degree by December 31, 2025, and proficiency in the local language of the applied state/UT. ADMIT CARD

The SBI Clerk admit card for Prelims and Mains will be available for download from the official website about 10 days before each exam. Candidates must carry the admit card with a valid photo ID and photographs to the exam hall.

Preliminary Exam:

Candidates will have to download their call letter and “Acquaint Yourself” booklet from SBI’s official website about 10 days before the exam date.

(No hard copy will be sent by post.)

Main Exam:

Candidates shortlisted after prelims can download their Main Exam call letter from the SBI website (again around 10 days before the exam date).

Documents to carry:

Admit Card (call letter) with passport-size photo pasted.

Valid ID proof (original + photocopy).

Two additional passport photos (same as uploaded in application).

For PwBD candidates: scribe form (if applicable).

EXAM RESULT

The SBI Clerk  exam result will be declared online only on SBI’s official career portal. The Preliminary result will be for shortlisting purposes, while the final merit list will be prepared based on Main exam marks and qualifying the local language test. A state-wise waitlist (up to 50% of vacancies) will also be maintained for one year.

Preliminary Exam result is qualifying in nature and marks are not added in final merit.

Final selection is based only on the Main Exam marks + local language test (if applicable).

The Preliminary Exam is tentatively set for September 2025, and the Main Exam for November 2025. Candidates must be aged 20–28 as of April 1, 2025, with relaxations for reserved categories. Graduation or equivalent is required. OBC certificates (Non-Creamy Layer) must be issued between April 1, 2025, and the appointment date, EWS certificates are valid for 2024-25 to 2025-26, and disability certificates must be dated on or before August 26, 2025. SBI apprentices need engagement from January 1, 2022, and one year’s experience by August 26, 2025. Call letters can be downloaded 10 days before each exam. The waitlist is valid for one year from the final result. As of August 27, 2025, applications are closed. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Only candidates who clear the Prelims cut-off can appear for the Mains. Prelims marks are qualifying and not counted in the final result. Final selection depends on Mains performance and passing the Local Language Test.

The SBI Clerk  Exam requires candidates to be aged 20–28 years as of April 1, 2025, with a graduation degree by December 31, 2025, and proficiency in the local language of the applied state/UT. Age relaxations apply for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwBD (10–15 years), and Ex-Servicemen (service period + 3 years). Current SBI clerical employees and those with adverse records are ineligible.

Age Limit

20–28 years (born between April 2, 1997, and April 1, 2005).

Relaxations:

OBC: +3 years

SC/ST: +5 years

PwBD (Gen/EWS): +10 years

PwBD (OBC): +13 years

PwBD (SC/ST): +15 years

Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen: Service period + 3 years (8 years for SC/ST), max 50 years

Widows/Divorced Women (not remarried): +7 years (max 35 for Gen/EWS, 38 for OBC, 40 for SC/ST)

Trained SBI Apprentices: +1 year (Gen/EWS), +4 years (OBC), +6 years (SC/ST)

Educational Qualification

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.

Final-year students can apply provisionally, subject to passing by December 31, 2025.

Matriculate Ex-Servicemen with 15+ years of service: Eligible with Army Special Certificate of Education or equivalent Navy/Air Force certificate.

Local Language Proficiency

Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the specified local language of the applied state/UT.

Exempted if 10th/12th mark sheet proves language proficiency; else, LLPT is mandatory.

Ineligibility

Current SBI clerical cadre employees.

Former SBI clerical employees who resigned.

Candidates with adverse character, moral turpitude, or unregularized loan/credit card defaults with banks/NBFCs.

Additional Notes

OBC candidates must belong to the “Non-Creamy Layer” with a certificate issued between April 1, 2025, and appointment.

EWS candidates need an Income & Asset Certificate for 2024-25, valid for 2025-26.

PwBD candidates require a disability certificate (40%+ disability) dated on or before August 26, 2025.

No category change allowed post-application; cumulative age relaxation not permitted.
