Overview

The REET Mains (Third Grade Teacher Recruitment) 2025–2026 is conducted by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB). It is a state-level recruitment examination for the appointment of teachers in Rajasthan government schools for Classes 1 to 8. Level 1 is for candidates applying for Primary Teacher posts (Classes 1 to 5), while Level 2 is for Upper Primary Teacher posts (Classes 6 to 8). The recruitment is implemented by the Government of Rajasthan.

Eligibility Criteria

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) determines the eligibility criteria for REET Mains 2025 (exam scheduled from January 17–21, 2026). Candidates must fulfill the following conditions to apply for Level 1 or Level 2 teacher posts.

Mandatory Requirement:
Candidates must have qualified REET 2022 or REET 2025 in the relevant level/subject.

Nationality:
The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit (as on January 1, 2026)
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 40 years
Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC), women, PwD, ex-servicemen, etc., as per Rajasthan Government rules.

Educational Qualification

Level 1 (Classes 1–5)

• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/BTC), or

• Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed, or

• Senior Secondary with 50% marks and appearing/passed in final year of D.El.Ed or equivalent as per NCTE norms.

Level 2 (Classes 6–8)

• Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or

• Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (or Special Education), or

• Graduation with 50% marks and appearing/passed in B.Ed or equivalent qualification.

Knowledge of Rajasthani language and culture may be required in certain cases. Relaxation in marks is applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.

Exam Pattern

The REET Mains examination is conducted in offline (OMR-based) mode for both Level 1 and Level 2.

• Total Questions: 150 (MCQs)

• Total Marks: 300

• Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes)

• Marking Scheme: +2 marks for each correct answer

• Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each incorrect answer

• Medium: Hindi (with some sections in English where applicable)

• Shifts:
  Morning – 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
  Evening – 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM

The paper includes Rajasthan GK, History & Geography, Current Affairs, Educational Psychology, Child Development, Pedagogy, Language, and subject-specific topics.

Exam Syllabus

The REET Mains syllabus for Level 1 and Level 2 is prescribed by RSSB and focuses on Rajasthan-specific knowledge, general awareness, teaching methodology, and subject content.

Level 1 (Primary Teacher)

• Focus on foundational teaching

• Subjects: Hindi, English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies

• Child Development and Pedagogy for primary level

Level 2 (Upper Primary Teacher)

• Subject-specific paper (Hindi, English, Maths, Science, Social Science, Sanskrit, etc.)

• Content based on NCERT Class 6–8 level

• Subject pedagogy and teaching methodology

Selection Process

The selection for REET Mains 2025 is completely merit-based and conducted by RSSB.

Stages of Selection

1. Written Examination (REET Mains)

   • Offline OMR-based test

   • 150 questions, 300 marks with negative marking

2. Merit List Preparation

   • Prepared separately for Level 1 and Level 2

   • Based solely on marks obtained in the written exam

   • Category-wise and area-wise (TSP/Non-TSP)

3. Document Verification (DV)

   • Shortlisted candidates are called for verification of original documents such as educational certificates, REET qualification, category certificate, domicile, etc.

4. Final Appointment

   • Candidates are appointed as Probationer Trainee Teachers based on merit and vacancy.

There is no interview or additional test. The final selection depends entirely on performance in the written examination. Results, answer keys, and merit lists will be released on the official website rssb.rajasthan.gov.in after the examination.
