COUNSELLING PROCESS & CUTOFFS

The NMIMS CET counselling process begins after the declaration of results and release of the merit list. Candidates who qualify the entrance exam are required to register for counselling online through the official NMIMS admission portal. Counselling is generally conducted in multiple rounds, depending on seat availability. During counselling, candidates must select their preferred programme and campus based on their rank. Seat allotment is done strictly on the basis of CET score, merit rank, programme preference, and availability of seats. Once a seat is allotted, candidates must confirm admission within the given deadline by paying the admission fee and completing document verification. Failure to report or pay the fee on time may lead to cancellation of the allotted seat, and the seat is then offered to the next eligible candidate in subsequent rounds.

The NMIMS CET cutoffs vary every year and depend on several factors such as number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, number of seats, course demand, and campus preference. Generally, popular programmes like BTech Computer Engineering, IT, and Artificial Intelligence at the Mumbai campus have higher cutoffs, while newer or less preferred campuses have comparatively lower cutoffs. Cutoffs are released in the form of minimum qualifying marks or closing ranks for each round of counselling. Candidates scoring above the cutoff are eligible for seat allotment in that round. NMIMS does not publish a single fixed cutoff; instead, it changes round-wise and campus-wise. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official NMIMS website for round-wise counselling updates and cutoff trends to make informed choices during seat selection.

Here’s a summary of last year’s and expected cutoffs for NMIMS CET and NPAT based on available trends and data:

NMIMS CET (Engineering & Tech) Last Year Cutoffs:

Cutoffs vary campus- and branch-wise. For Phase 2 (2025) at the Mumbai campus, top branches like Computer Engineering closed around rank ~1000Artificial Intelligence ~1750Information Technology ~2950CS & Business Systems ~3100, and Mechatronics ~3700. These are closing ranks indicating how competitive each program was in 2025. More core or high-demand branches required a better rank (lower number) to secure a seat. Lower-demand or other campuses usually had higher (easier) rank cutoffs.

NMIMS NPAT (UG – BBA/B.Sc) Last Year Cutoffs:

For NMIMS NPAT 2025, expected score cutoffs for popular campuses were approximately: NMIMS Mumbai ~72–76 marksBengaluru ~67–70Hyderabad ~67–69Indore ~66–67, and Navi Mumbai ~65–67 out of 120. A score of 69–71 was generally seen as a good target for NMIMS Mumbai.

Expected Cutoffs for 2026 Admissions:

NMIMS CET 2026: Based on trends from 2024–25, cutoffs are expected to remain competitive or tighten slightly for top branches. A rank under ~1000–1500 will likely be needed for strong chance in core branches like Computer Engineering (especially at Mumbai), while other programs/campuses may allow higher ranks. Cutoffs are influenced by seats, difficulty, and number of applicants, so these are approximate expectations rather than official numbers.

NMIMS NPAT 2026: Given previous year trends, a score around 72–80 (out of 120) is generally expected to be competitive for top campuses like Mumbai and Bengaluru. Higher scores improve chances in preferred branches/campuses.

Important Notes:

Cutoffs change every year based on competition, exam difficulty, and seat availability.

Official cutoffs for 2026 will only be released by NMIMS after counselling rounds.

The above figures are based on last year trends and expert estimates, not official cutoff lists.???????
