OVERVIEW:
The NMAT by GMAC™ exam is a computer administered exam owned by the Graduate Management Global Connection (India) Private Limited (GMGC), a subsidiary of Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).
The NMAT by GMAC™ exam opens doors to your success and makes the pursuit of your dreams easier. NMAT Exam scores are used for admissions to some of the leading B-Schools in India, South Africa, Philippines, Nigeria, Hungary, and Morocco. The NMAT registration fee includes sending scores to five B-Schools.

EXAM PATTERN:
The NMAT by GMAC™ exam is comprised of three sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning.
The exam sections are individually timed and candidates must answer the questions in each section within the allotted time.
Questions are delivered one at a time and are randomly selected from a pool of questions.
The number of questions, difficulty levels, and time limit for each of the sections is predetermined and, under normal administration conditions, are the same regardless of when and where the test is administered.
Candidates can choose the order/sequence of the test sections at the beginning of the exam.

Mode Of Examination:
This will be an online examination, and there are two medium available to give the exam. You can choose from Test Centres and Exam at home.
Exam at the Test Centre in India: There are no scheduled breaks in the exam. It is advised that you do not take any breaks during the exam. However, you can choose to take unscheduled breaks if you want during the session with the permission of the Test Administrator. An unscheduled break means the exam timer will not stop. If you still choose to take a break, you will get lesser time to answer the questions in the section and if there is very little time for the section to end it may timeout and you will be unable to answer the remaining questions of that section on your return. No extra time will be given to complete the test. Upon re-entering the testing room, you must show a valid ID.
Online Proctored Exam at Home: There are no scheduled breaks in the test. A candidate cannot leave their seat during the exam and the proctor has the right to terminate the test if the candidate moves away from the view of the Proctor.

Percentile Score Calculation:
Questions in the NMAT by GMAC™ exam are selected from the question pool for each examinee based on his or her performance on the questions previously answered. The questions a candidate receives are targeted at his or her ability level; therefore, a high-scoring candidate generally receives a more difficult sample of questions than a low-scoring candidate. The NMAT exam is scored by obtaining the candidate’s final ability estimate based on the probabilistic model approach of modern test theory and transformed to a scaled score ranging from 12 to 360.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
1. Every student must have a bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from any recognized university.
2. Candidates must have at least a 50% score in aggregate in their graduation.
3. Candidates with work experience of two or more years after graduation will be favored for admission to all full-time programs (according to Admission Information Handout of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).
4. Students in their final year of bachelor’s can also apply for the exam where they shall be offered provisional admission. The final admission will be granted only on clearing graduation exams in the first attempt with at least 50% of marks. The applicant should be able to submit all original documents within the stipulated time period.
NMAT by GMAC’s official website has clearly informed in its eligibility section, “All test takers who complete the Test Registration process pay the test fee within the time specified and follow the published NMATby GMAC terms and conditions may sit for the NMAT exam. It is the responsibility of the test taker to understand the eligibility requirements of all the universities and schools to which he/she is interested in applying before registering for NMATby GMAC. If the test taker registers for the test and then determine that he/she is ineligible for admission to the desired program, no test fee refund will be made. For the eligibility requirements, test takers are advised to check the websites of each university and school where they plan to apply”.

Step 1: Fill in the Application form
Candidates willing to appear for NMAT by GMAC must ensure that they fill in the application form before the deadline.
Candidates can choose to pay the fee through any of the following modes:

Step 2: Download NMAT by GMAC Admit Card
Candidates who register successfully for NMAT by GMAC will be allotted admit cards by the officials. Test-takers can download the admit cards from the official website at www.nmat.org.in. To download the admit card, candidates need to enter their registration number and password. In case a test taker does not receive the admit card, he/she should contact the NMAT helpdesk.
Step 3: Appear for NMAT by GMAC Exam
The dates for NMAT by GMAC are generally between Oct 4 to Dec 19. Candidates can appear for the exam up to a total of three times. The sections included in the NMAT by GMAC paper will be Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning.
Step 4: Check NMAT by GMAC Result
NMAT by GMAC releases results in various windows, based on test dates and the final result is released in January. Test-takers can view their scorecards as and when the results are declared by the officials. The result of the exam is announced approximately within 4-5 weeks after the test date. To check the scorecard, candidates need to log in using their registered email ID.

ADMIT CARD:
NMAT Admit Card is issued seven days before the scheduled NMAT test date. Candidates are allowed to appear for the NMAT exam within the testing window. Candidates has to choose the NMAT by GMAC exam day, slot, and exam venue during the exam scheduling process. The same login dashboard window hosts the NMAT admit card. The NMAT admit card download window will remain open until the NMAT exam date. Candidates need to carry the hard copy of the NMAT hall ticket to the examination centre.
STEP 1– Visit the official website of NMAT by GMAC
STEP 2– Candidates who have completed the NMAT registration process should log in to check the application status and if it shows ‘payment successful’ you can proceed to download NMAT admit card on the exam application dashboard
STEP 3– Candidates not fulfilling the NMAT registration process should first complete the steps and then download the admit card.
RESULT:
You will see your unofficial score card once you submit the exam. You will receive your score card with overall and sectional scaled scores within 48 hours of giving the exam. Any exams with test security incidents are subject to audit and the result will be published in 10 working days.

NMAT EXAM
NMAT or NMAT by GMAC is a national-level entrance test conducted for MBA admissions at NMIMS University and other reputed business schools in India as well as abroad. NMAT originally was administered by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies until it was taken over by GMAC. During the NMAT exam window, candidates can use the NMAT scheduling option to select their preferred exam day and location. Candidates can choose their desired day during a testing window, as well as self-schedule the exam, time and place, and appointment date dependent on the availability of seats at the desired test centre, as they may with the GMAT.

NMAT EXAM APPLICATION PROCESS
The application process is online, Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria can fill out the application form. The application process involves several steps, such as registering, completing the application form, uploading the required documents, paying the fee, and final submission. Candidates only need to fill out the application form with correct details, otherwise, you are responsible for rejection.
STEPS TO FILL NMAT EXAM ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
Step 1- Registration: Visit the official website for NMAT registration. Click on the ‘Register Now’ link hovering on the homepage if you are a first-time applicant.
Step 2- Confirmation of Password: The registration window will open. Fill in basic details such as name, phone number, email ID and click on the ‘Register’ button. After registration, candidates will receive their user ID and password in the registered email ID and phone number.
Step 3- Filling out the application form: At this stage, candidates had to enter all the relevant details carefully before submitting the NMAT application form. After this, an application number was generated. Select up to five B-schools in order of your preference where NMAT by GMAC can send scores for the selection process using the ‘School Preference’ section.
Step 4- Photo & Signature Upload: Upload scanned copy of passport size photograph of not more than 1 MB and the file should be in JPG/JPEG or PNG format.
Step 5- Exam centre: Select exam-taking option between test centre and online remote proctored mode at home.
Step 6- Pay the NMAT registration fee: using any of the options – Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard, VISA, and Mobile Wallets.Book exam slot.

NMAT EXAM ADMIT CARD
Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) will provide NMAT admit card to the candidates within 24 hours after their successful NMAT registration and scheduling of the NMAT exam date. Eligible candidates can download the admit card with their credentials such as application number and date of birth. No candidate will receive an NMAT Admit card by email, fax, etc. It includes details such as the candidate’s name, test date, test time, and test center. Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to download admit card for the NMAT exam:

NMAT EXAM
NMAT is a national level entrance test conducted for MBA admissions at NMIMS University and other reputed B-Schools in India as well as abroad. Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies conducted NMAT until GMAC took over the authority. NMAT is designed keeping the test-taker’s convenience in mind.
NMAT shares some features with GMAT as candidates are allowed to choose the preferred date during a testing window as well as self-schedule the test, time and venue, appointment date based on the availability of seats at the preferred test centre.
NMAT EXAM PATTERN
NMAT Exam Pattern has seen a few changes this year. NMAT exam will now be conducted in a revised pattern in two different testing modes Computer Based Test at Exam Centres and Online-Proctored test from home.
NMAT is an online exam of 360 marks. It consists of a total of 108 multiple-choice questions divided into 3 sections: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning.

NMAT MODE OF EXAMINATION
NMAT Examination will be held as an Online Computer-based Test. Questions will be Objective type Multiple choice in nature.
NMAT MEDIUM OF EXAMINATION
The exam paper for NMAT Examination will be in English language Only.
NMAT MARKING SCHEME
1. Each of the three sections of NMAT Exam is individually timed.
2. There is no negative marking in NMAT exam.
3. For un-attempted and wrong answers, there will be no penalty.

NMAT EXAM
Candidates willing to apply for NMAT Examination are required to fulfil certain conditions to be eligible for it. The candidate who does not satisfy the Eligibility criteria like Age, Minimum educational qualification etc., their candidature shall be rejected by the authorities. The candidate’s eligibility for NMAT Examination is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:-

NMAT EXAM: NATIONALITY
There is no nationality criteria for NMAT.
NMAT EXAM: AGE LIMIT
There is no age limit to take the NMAT entrance exam.
NMAT EXAM: EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
1. Applicants should obtain a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute with at least 50 percent marks.
2. Final year students of Bachelor’s degree (regular) are eligible to apply for NMAT as well and get provisional admission. However, it is only after clearing the final year exam in the first attempt with at least 50 percent marks, that candidates would be offered final admission.

MBA Pharmaceutical | Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in; Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Medical Technology & Biotechnology, and MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. Candidates with B.Tech. Bio-Tech./Bio-Medical or B.E. Bio-Tech./Bio- Medical from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate are also eligible to apply. Candidates working in Pharmaceutical Companies or with work experience in healthcare sector can also apply subject to meeting the above qualification criteria. |
MBA – Business | The MBA – Business Analytics, Mumbai applicants shall have Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce or Economics with minimum 55% marks in the aggregate. Having relevant industry work experience of at least an year would be an added advantage |
MBA (Digital Transformation), | Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Any stream) /MCA,/B.Sc. (IT)/B,Sc.(Computer Science)/ BSc. (Electronics)/ BSc. (Physics)/ Bsc (Maths)/ Any other graduate degree with Mathematics as a compulsory subject till graduation. Minimum pass marks 55% in aggregate plus minimum two-year years of industry experience is desirable. |
NOTE 1. As per University Grants Commission (UGC) – “Degrees / Diplomas / Certificates awarded for programmes conducted by the Open & Distance Learning (ODL) institutions, recognized by Distance Education Council (DEC) (erstwhile) and UGC, in conformity with UGC Notification on specification of Degrees should be treated as equivalent to the corresponding awards of the Degree / Diploma / Certificate of the traditional Universities / institutions in the country”.
NOTE 2. AIU certificate is mandatory for those candidates who have completed their graduation from overseas Universities.
NOTE 3. If at any stage, it is found that a candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria or the information furnished by him / her in the online registration is incorrect, his/her application for the admission to the programme, even if selected and fees paid, will stand cancelled and fees forfeited. The registration fee is non-refundable.
NOTE 4. Candidates appearing for NMAT by GMAC™ exam & NMIMS Selection process should note that if at any point of time it is observed that they do not meet eligibility criteria, then admission will be cancelled and the process will stand terminated. The course fees if paid, refund will be as per refund rules (as applicable).
NMAT EXAM ELIGIBILITY HIGHLIGHTS
1. The candidate should be a graduate with at least 50% marks or should be in the final year of the graduate program.
2. There is no age limit to take the NMAT entrance exam.
3. NMAT offers three chances to improve your score after appearing in the exam for the first time. This gives students opportunity to do their best.

NMAT EXAM IMPORTANT FACTS
1. The test window for NMAT is an 88-day test window starting from the first week of October till the third week of December.
2. NMAT examination is held Once a Year.
3. Candidates are advised to be clear about the exam schedule.
4. Candidates are advised to download and print the Admit Card timely.
5. Candidates should reach the Examination center well before time in order to prepare themselves for the examination.
6. Candidates must be fully aware of all the barred items that are not permitted in the examination.
