LATEST UPDATE 2026

For the upcoming NEET SS 2026 examination, no official notification has been released yet. At present, the latest available information is based on last year’s schedule. As per the previous cycle, the NEET SS result is scheduled to be declared by January 28, 2026. The examination was conducted on December 26 and 27, 2025, while the admit card was issued on December 22, 2025. Earlier, the exam city intimation slip was released on December 12, 2025, and the NEET SS demo test link was also activated for candidates.

In the previous cycle, the NEET SS application process began on November 5, 2025, at 3 PM and closed on November 25, 2025, at 11:55 PM, providing candidates with a 20-day window to complete and submit the application form.

The NEET SS result is scheduled to be declared by January 28, 2026. The examination was successfully conducted on December 26 and 27, 2025, while the admit card was issued on December 22, 2025. Prior to this, the exam city intimation slip was released on December 12, 2025, and the NEET SS 2025 demo test link was also made available for candidates.

The NEET SS 2025 application process commenced on November 5, 2025, at 3 PM and concluded on November 25, 2025, at 11:55 PM, giving candidates a 20-day window to complete and submit their applications.

COUNSELLING PROCESS & CUTOFFS

The NEET SS counselling process is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on behalf of NBEMS for all India quota seats. Only candidates who qualify NEET SS and meet the minimum cutoff are eligible. Eligible candidates must register online, fill their choice of colleges and courses, and participate in seat allotment rounds. EXAM SYLLABUS

National Board of Education (NBE) conducts the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) for admission to various super speciality courses viz. DM/ MCh (Doctorate of Medicine/ Magister Chirurgiae) courses.

EXAM PATTERN

The NEET SS exam pattern remains unchanged from last year. NEET SS is a group-based examination conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode. The exam consists of three sections, with 50 multiple-choice questions in each section. The total duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes, and candidates are required to attempt each section within 50 minutes. The time-bound sectional format, introduced by NBEMS last year, will continue this year as well.

The exam carries a total of 600 marks. Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks, while 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect response.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Specialty also known as NEET(SS) for admission to Doctorate of Medicine (DM) and Master of Chirurgie (MCh) seats in various institutes across India. The candidate’s eligibility for NEET(SS) is based on the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

Nationality 

1. Candidates should be of Indian Nationality or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.
2. Foreign nationals can appear in NEET(SS) without MCI registration. The Medical Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Doctoral course limited to the medical college/institution to which he/she is admitted for the time being exclusively for pursuing postdoctoral studies.

Age Limit & Relaxations

There is no age limit for the candidates appearing for NEET(SS).

Educational Qualifications

1. Candidates who are in possession of a recognized postgraduate medical Degree/Provisional Pass Certificate (MD/MS/DNB) or an equivalent recognized qualification or likely to be in possession of the same in accordance with eligible broad specialty qualifications for super specialty courses.

2. Candidates found to be ineligible at any stage of NEET(SS) will not be permitted to appear in the examination. In the unlikely event of any ineligible candidate appearing and/or being successful in NEET(SS), the result/ candidature of such candidate shall be canceled and/or is deemed to be canceled as and when the ineligibility is detected.

3. Requests for appearing in NEET(SS) from candidates who are qualifying and/or getting the results of their MD/MS/DNB qualifications/eligible feeder qualification shall be summarily rejected.

4. Registration with M.C.I./State Medical Council is mandatory and its documentary proof should be furnished at the Test Centre on the examination day.

5. Candidates who have left the DNB Superspecialty Programme (incomplete) after joining the same are not eligible to admissions to DNB Superspecialty courses for the subsequent 3 admissions sessions.
