ECGC PO 2024 notification was released on 13 September 2024 on the official website, announcing 40 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officer in Executive Officer Cadre. Candidates can apply online from 14th September to 13th October 2024, Admit Card will be released on 05th November 2024 and ECGC PO exam will be conducted on 16th November 2024. As per the official notification, the results of the online written examination will be announced between 16 December 2024 to 31 December 2024 and the interview will be conducted between January to February 2025 (tentative).

OVERVIEW

Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (ECGC) is essentially an export promotion organization, seeking to improve the competitiveness of the Indian exports by providing them with credit insurance covers. The Corporation has introduced various export credit insurance schemes to meet the requirements of commercial banks extending export credit.

The Recruitment Process consists of Online Examination followed by interview of the candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the online examination. The online examination will be conducted at 23 Centres i.e., Mumbai/Thane/Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar, Pune, Indore, Nagpur, Kolkata, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Bhubaneshwar, Raipur, Guwahati, Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Ernakulam, Hyderabad, Vizag, Delhi/Noida/Gurgaon, Chandigarh/Mohali, Kanpur, Patna, Ranchi and Jaipur. Candidates who will be shortlisted in the online examination will be called to Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Bangalore for an interview and the details of the same shall be communicated to the shortlisted candidates at a later stage. The recruitment will be strictly in line with the spirit of Government’s guidelines on Reservation Policy.

SALARY STRUCTURE

The online examination for the selection of personnel for the post of Probationary Officer in the cadre of Executive Officers in ECGC Ltd. on the pay scale of 53600-2645(14)-90630- 2865(4)-102090 is scheduled for May 2024. The officers are also eligible for the allowances and benefits like Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance / House Lease Reimbursement, Transport Allowance, Medical Allowance, Newspaper Allowance, Meal coupons, Reimbursement of Mobile Bills, Mobile Handset & Briefcase Allowance, Furniture Allowance, Household help Allowance, etc. The current CTC (Cost to Company) of Executive Officer (Probationary officer) posted in Mumbai is approximately Rs.16 lakh per annum.

EXAM PATTERN

According to ECGC PO exam pattern, there are two parts in the online written test i.e. Objective test followed by a descriptive test. The candidate has to complete and qualify both the tests by scoring the minimum marks. The Descriptive paper will start once the complete time allotted to the objective paper is over. No separate login is required to take the test. 

ECGC PO Objective Test

1. The online examination consists of 200 multiple choice questions for 1 mark each.
2. There will be 5 subjects Reasoning Ability, English, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, and Quantitative Aptitude.
3. A negative marking of 0.25 marks (¼th mark) for each incorrect answer.
4.There will be a sectional timing for each test as discussed in the below table.

ECGC PO Descriptive Paper

The descriptive paper will be held for a total of 40 marks over a duration of 40 minutes. There will be two topics i.e. Essay and Precis writing. The candidates were given 2 options to choose the questions. The candidates have to answer only 2 questions in the descriptive section.

DETAILS ABOUT DESCRIPTIVE TYPE TEST

1. No separate login is required to take the test.
2. This test will start automatically upon auto-submission of objective test.
3. Questions will be displayed on computer monitor.
4. Only one question with internal choices will be displayed at a time.
5. The questions will be in English and answers are to be typed in space provided for the same using keyboard.

NOTE. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Examination and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for an interview.

Mode of Examination

ECGC PO Examination shall be held as a Computer Based Test and shall consist of Objective Type Multiple choice questions only.

Medium of Examination

All tests except test of English Language Paper will be provided in English and Hindi.

Marking Scheme

There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests.

1. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer.

2. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score.

3. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

Important Facts   

1. Those candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes or otherwise advised for every hour of the examination.

2. The scribe arranged by the candidate should not be a candidate for the online examination.

3. One Fourth or 0.25 will be deducted as a penalty for every incorrect answer.

4. Candidates have to fulfil both overall and sectional cutoff.

5. After Qualifying Online Test, candidates are required to appear for Descriptive Test for further selection procedure.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates willing to apply for ECGC PO  Exam are required to fulfil certain conditions to be eligible for it. The candidate who does not satisfy the Eligibility criteria like Age, Minimum educational qualification etc., their candidature shall be rejected by the authorities. The criteria for eligibility ECGC PO are decided by the conduction body itself. The candidate’s eligibility for ECGC PO Examination is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:

Nationality

A candidate must be either:

1. a citizen of India or
2. a citizen of India or
3. a subject of Bhutan or

5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with intention of permanently settling in India provided that a candidate belong to categories (2), (3), (4) & (5) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification

A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.

Note. On the day of registration, the candidate must have a valid Mark Sheet/ Degree Certificate indicating that he or she is graduate and state the percentage of marks earned in the graduation while registering online.

ECGC PO 2024 application process closed on 13th October 2024. The application form was released on 14th November 2024. The application process is online. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria can only fill out the application form. The application process involves several steps, such as completing the application form, uploading the required documents, and paying the fee.

The ECGC PO Admit Card is issued online on the official website of ECGC. Candidates need to follow the steps to download admit card of ECGC PO 2024 exam:

Step 1. Visit the official website ECGC

Step 2. Click on ECGC PO Admit Card link.

Step 3. Enter your registration number or roll number.

Step 4. Provide your date of birth and password.

Step 5. Enter the captcha code and click on ‘Login’.

Step 6. Download your ECGC PO Admit Card 2024.

Step 7. Cross check all the important details present in the ECGC PO Admit Card i.e. Name, Photograph, the Test venue, and exam date, etc.

Step 8. Take a printout of the exam.

RESULT:

Candidates need to follow the steps below to check the result of the ECGC PO 2024 exam:

SELECTION PROCESS

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the Online Written Examination will subsequently be called for an interview to be conducted by the Company at Mumbai and/or other centres. The Centre, address of the venue, time & date of interview will be informed to shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from website of the Company, i.e.https://main.ecgc.in/, Please note that any request regarding change in date, centre etc. of interview will not be entertained. However, the Company reserves the right to change the date/venue/time/centre etc. of interview in unforeseen circumstances.

The total marks allotted for interview are 60. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/ PWBD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of Online Examination and interview will be 80:20 respectively. The combined final score of the candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the Online Examination and Interview. Interview score of the candidates failing to secure minimum qualifying marks or otherwise barred from the interview or further process shall not be disclosed.

A candidate should qualify both in the Online Examination and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for further selection process, details of which will be made available subsequently on the Company’s website.

LATEST UPDATE

ECGC PO 2024 notification was released on 13 September 2024 on the official website, announcing 40 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officer in Executive Officer Cadre. Candidates can apply online from 14th September to 13th October 2024, Admit Card will be released on 05th November 2024 and ECGC PO exam will be conducted on 16th November 2024. As per the official notification, the results of the online written examination will be announced between 16 December 2024 to 31 December 2024 and the interview will be conducted between January to February 2025 (tentative).

EXAM PATTERN

According to ECGC PO exam pattern, there are two parts in the online written test i.e. Objective test followed by a descriptive test. The candidate has to complete and qualify both the tests by scoring the minimum marks. The Descriptive paper will start once the complete time allotted to the objective paper is over. No separate login is required to take the test.

1. The online examination consists of 200 multiple choice questions for 1 mark each.
2. There will be 5 subjects Reasoning Ability, English, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, and Quantitative Aptitude.
3. A negative marking of 0.25 marks (¼th mark) for each incorrect answer.
4.There will be a sectional timing for each test as discussed in the below table.

ECGC PO Descriptive Paper

The descriptive paper will be held for a total of 40 marks over a duration of 40 minutes. There will be two topics i.e. Essay and Precis writing. The candidates were given 2 options to choose the questions. The candidates have to answer only 2 questions in the descriptive section.

DETAILS ABOUT DESCRIPTIVE TYPE TEST

1. No separate login is required to take the test.
2. This test will start automatically upon auto-submission of objective test.
3. Questions will be displayed on computer monitor.
4. Only one question with internal choices will be displayed at a time.
5. The questions will be in English and answers are to be typed in space provided for the same using keyboard.

NOTE. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Examination and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for an interview.

Mode of Examination

ECGC PO Examination shall be held as a Computer Based Test and shall consist of Objective Type Multiple choice questions only.

Medium of Examination

All tests except test of English Language Paper will be provided in English and Hindi.

Marking Scheme

There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests.

1. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer.

2. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score.

3. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

Important Facts   

1. Those candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes or otherwise advised for every hour of the examination.

2. The scribe arranged by the candidate should not be a candidate for the online examination.

3. One Fourth or 0.25 will be deducted as a penalty for every incorrect answer.

4. Candidates have to fulfil both overall and sectional cutoff.

5. After Qualifying Online Test, candidates are required to appear for Descriptive Test for further selection procedure.

ECGC PO 2024 notification was released on 13 September 2024 on the official website, announcing 40 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officer in Executive Officer Cadre. Candidates can apply online from 14th September to 13th October 2024, Admit Card will be released on 05th November 2024 and ECGC PO exam will be conducted on 16th November 2024. As per the official notification, the results of the online written examination will be announced between 16 December 2024 to 31 December 2024 and the interview will be conducted between January to February 2025 (tentative).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates willing to apply for ECGC PO  Exam are required to fulfil certain conditions to be eligible for it. The candidate who does not satisfy the Eligibility criteria like Age, Minimum educational qualification etc., their candidature shall be rejected by the authorities. The criteria for eligibility ECGC PO are decided by the conduction body itself. The candidate’s eligibility for ECGC PO Examination is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:

1. Nationality 

2. ECGC PO :  Age Limit & Relaxations

3. ECGC PO : Educational Qualifications

Nationality

A candidate must be either:

1. a citizen of India or
2. a citizen of India or
3. a subject of Bhutan or
4. a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with intention of permanently settling in India provided that a candidate belong to categories (2), (3), (4) & (5) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Age limit & Relaxations

Age (as on 01.09.2024) : Minimum: 21 years, Maximum: 30 years

Note. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.09.1994 and not later than 01.09.2003 (both the dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification

A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.

Note. On the day of registration, the candidate must have a valid Mark Sheet/ Degree Certificate indicating that he or she is graduate and state the percentage of marks earned in the graduation while registering online.

Important Facts

1. A candidate shall be a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan.

2. A candidate should be atleast 21 years of age and should not be more than 30 years.

3. Candidates must hold a Graduate degree at the time of Online application.
