SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process for the AIIMS MSc Nursing 2026 exam is primarily based on a national-level computer-based entrance test conducted by AIIMS. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria must appear for the entrance examination, which assesses their knowledge of core nursing subjects through multiple-choice questions. Based on the performance in the exam, AIIMS prepares a merit list following its reservation and category-wise norms.

Primary Selection Stages

The process typically follows these four critical phases:

1 – Written Entrance Examination

Candidates must appear for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) scheduled for June 20, 2026.

The exam consists of 90 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to be completed in 90 minutes.

You must secure at least the 50th percentile (for General/EWS) or the required qualifying marks for your category to be eligible for further rounds.

2 – Merit List Generation

AIIMS New Delhi publishes a merit list based on performance in the entrance exam.

In the event of a tie, priority is given to candidates with fewer negative marks, followed by the older candidate by age.

3 – Online Seat Allocation (Counselling)

Qualified candidates are invited for the counselling process, which is conducted in three rounds: Round 1, Round 2, and a final Open Round.

During these rounds, you will exercise and lock your choices for specific AIIMS campuses and nursing specialities through the official AIIMS exam portal.

4 – Medical Examination & Final Admission

Once a seat is provisionally allotted, candidates must report to the respective AIIMS for document verification.

A mandatory medical examination is conducted by the institute. Candidates found medically fit can then finalize their admission by paying the prescribed fees.

Essential Documents for Final Selection

1 – During the reporting phase, you will need to produce:
