LATEST UPDATE 2026

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research conducts admission to Undergraduate (UG) programmes through CUET (UG). For theĀ ICAR UG Admission 2026, candidates seeking admission to agriculture and allied science courses under theĀ All India Quota (AIQ)Ā must qualifyĀ CUET (UG)-2026, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The official notification for CUET UG 2026 is expected to be released inĀ March 2026. The online application process will be available on the NTA CUET portal, and the examination is likely to be conducted inĀ May 2026. ICAR UG counselling will be conducted separately after the declaration of CUET UG results.

IMPORTANT DATES

TheĀ CUET UG 2026 notificationĀ is expected inĀ March 2026, with theĀ online application process starting the same monthĀ and closing by theĀ last week of March 2026. TheĀ application correction windowĀ is likely to be available inĀ April 2026, followed by theĀ release of admit cards in May 2026. ICAR UG admission provides access to top agricultural universities across India through the All India Quota. SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process for the ICAR UG 2026 Exam involvesĀ qualifying the CUET (ICAR-UG)-2026 entrance exam conducted by the NTA, followed by registration for ICAR’s online counselling. Admission is based on merit, seat availability, and subject choices, with multiple counselling rounds and a mop-up round to finalize seat allocation.Ā 

Key Stages of ICAR UG 2026 Selection:

Eligibility Check:Ā Candidates must be at least 16 years old as of August 31, 2026, and have passed Class 12 with 50% (General/OBC/EWS) or 40% (SC/ST/PwD) in PCM/PCB/PCMB/Agriculture.

Entrance Exam (CUET ICAR-UG 2026):Ā Candidates must appear for the CUET UG 2026 in subjects relevant to their 12th-grade stream, as finalized by the NTA.

ADMIT CARD

TheĀ CUET (UG) admit cardĀ is a mandatory document for appearing in the ICAR UG 2026 examination. It contains details like the candidate’s name, roll number, photograph, signature, exam date, time, and centre.


Steps to Download Admit Card
:

1. Visit the official CUET UG website:Ā https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/

2. Click on theĀ ā€œLoginā€Ā link and enter your registration number, password, and captcha code.

3. Access yourĀ candidate dashboardĀ and click on the link to download the admit card.

4. Download and print the admit card for future reference.

5. Carry theĀ admit card along with a valid photo IDĀ to the exam centre.

Note:Ā No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without theĀ admit card. Check all details carefully and report discrepancies immediately to NTA.

EXAM RESULTS

TheĀ CUET (UG) 2026 resultsĀ are declared online on the official NTA website after the completion of the examination. Candidates can check their results using theirĀ registration number and password or date of birth. The results include theĀ score obtained, qualifying status, and subject-wise marks.

2. Click on theĀ ā€œCUET UG 2026 Resultsā€Ā link.

3. Enter yourĀ registration number and password or date of birth.

4. Submit the details to view the result.

5. Download and print theĀ scorecardĀ for counselling and admission purposes.

Candidates who meet theĀ qualifying marksĀ will be eligible to register forĀ ICAR UG counsellingĀ for seat allotment under the All India Quota.

COUNSELLING PROCESSĀ 

TheĀ ICAR UG counsellingĀ is conducted online forĀ All India Quota admissionsĀ after the CUET UG 2026 results. Eligible candidates must complete the following steps to secure admission:

Registration:Ā Candidates must register on theĀ official ICAR UG counselling portalĀ using their CUET UG credentials.

Choice Filling:Ā Fill inĀ preferred courses and universitiesĀ in order of priority.

Seat Allotment:Ā Seats are allocated based onĀ CUET UG score, rank, category reservation, and choices filled.

Document Verification:Ā Candidates allotted seats must report to the respective university forĀ document verification.

Admission Confirmation:Ā After verification, candidates mustĀ pay the admission feeĀ to confirm their seat.

Subsequent Counselling Rounds:Ā If any seats remain vacant, additional counselling rounds will be conducted.

Important Notes:

EXAM SYLLABUS

TheĀ CUET UG 2026 syllabusĀ for ICAR UG admissions covers topics from Class 12 level across four main sections.Ā General Intelligence & ReasoningĀ tests logical thinking, pattern recognition, and analytical skills.Ā General Knowledge & AwarenessĀ evaluates awareness of current affairs, India and world history, geography, culture, science, and everyday observations.Ā Elementary MathematicsĀ includes arithmetic, algebra, geometry, percentages, ratios, time and work, and other basic mathematical concepts. TheĀ English/Hindi LanguageĀ section assesses comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and language usage. This syllabus helps candidates focus on both conceptual understanding and application-based questions.

EXAM PATTERN

TheĀ CUET UG 2026 exam patternĀ for ICAR UG admissions is designed to assess candidates’ knowledge, reasoning ability, and language skills in a structured manner. The test comprises multiple-choice questions divided into four sections:Ā General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi Language. Each section carries equal weight, and the exam is conducted in aĀ computer-based formatĀ with a total duration ofĀ 60 minutes, requiring candidates to manage time efficiently while attempting all questions.

CUET (UG) will completely be conducted in Hybrid mode (Pen & Paper/ Computer Based Test) mode.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The candidate’s eligibility forĀ CUET (ICAR-UG) ExaminationĀ is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:-Ā

Nationality

The nationality of the applying candidate should beĀ Indian only.

Age limit

Indian Nationals of at least 16 years of ageĀ are eligible to apply for the examination. No relaxation is admissible regarding the minimum age limit.Ā 

Educational Qualifications

1. Indian national candidates must have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination within scope and standard found to be equivalent to the Senior Secondary Examination of a recognised Indian Board/University,Ā with minimum prescribed marks/gradeĀ after a period of 12 years of study. The medium of instruction in the admitting University will be English.

2. Candidate must have passed any one of the qualifying examinations enumerated above securing not less than 50% marks in aggregate for General, OBC (NCL), UPS, EWS categories and 40% marks in aggregate for SC, ST, Third Gender, PwD categories. There will be no rounding-off of the OGPA/percentage of marks of qualifying examination while deciding the basic eligibility of any candidate for admission e.g. if a candidate obtained 49.99% marks in his/her qualifying examination, then it will not be rounded-off to 50%.

3. Candidate having a compartment/supplementary in any of the subjects will not be eligible unless proof of having cleared the examination with requisite percentage asabove is available.Ā Ā 

4. Candidate already appeared in the qualifying examination enumerated above, can also apply but would be required to submit evidence of having satisfied the conditions latest at the time of counselling/admission in the allotted university.

5. Candidate must ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility requirements for the examination as well as admission as detailed in the Information Bulletin.

IMPORTANT DATES

TheĀ CUET UG 2026Ā examination schedule is set to begin with the official notification inĀ March 2026, followed by the start of online applications in the same month. Candidates can submit their applications until the last week of March 2026, with a correction window available in April 2026 for any modifications. Admit cards are expected to be released in May 2026, and the examination will also be conducted during May 2026 across multiple shifts. The results of CUET UG 2026 are likely to be declared between June and July 2026, after which eligible candidates can register for theĀ ICAR UG counsellingĀ process scheduled from August to September 2026.
