LATEST UPDATE 2026

The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2026, conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), is the current cycle ongoing as of January 13, 2026. The exam was held on January 18, 2026 (Sunday) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Admit cards were available for download starting January 2, 2026.

IMPORTANT DATES

CEED Admit card is out now, on January 02, 2026 for M.Des applicants. The admit card is out from 1 PM onwards. Candidates can use email id and password to download the admit card. It is available on the candidate portal. The last date for rectification of discrepancies in the CEED Admit Card is January 08, 2025, 05:00 PM.

The last date for CEED registration was extended from October 31, 2025 to November 05, 2025 with regular fees and with late fees was November 10, 2025. CEED Application were available at ceedapp.iitb.ac.in.  CEED Entrance Exam 2026 will be conducted on January 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Sunday. CEED Application with late fees of INR 500 is closed now, November 10, 2025. The application closed at 5 PM. CEED Application ended with the regular fee, November 05, 2025.

PROGRAMS OFFERED

The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED), conducted by IIT Bombay, qualifies candidates for admission to postgraduate programs in design, primarily the Master of Design (M.Des) and, in some cases, Ph.D. in Design.

CEED scores are used by participating institutes (core IITs, IISc, and IIITDMs) and additional result-sharing institutes (private/deemed universities and others that accept CEED scores for their M.Des admissions). Note that there is no centralized counseling like for some other exams—qualified candidates must apply separately to each institute, which may conduct interviews, portfolio reviews, or additional tests.

Result-sharing institutes (mostly private/deemed universities) also accept CEED scores but are generally considered secondary options.

HOW TO APPLY

Candidates must apply for CEED online only through the official CEED website conducted by IIT Bombay. First, register using a valid email ID and mobile number, then log in to fill the application form with personal, educational, and exam city details. Upload the required documents such as photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable), and pay the application fee online. After successful submission, download and keep a copy of the confirmation page for future reference.

Step 1: Go through the official website

Step 2: Now click on “Online Registration -CEED Admission” and then click on “Fresh Candidates to create Log In”.

Step 3: Fill required details like Email Id, Phone Number, Name, Date of Birth and select the program candidates apply for and submit them.

Step 4: Now login with Email Id and Date of Birth and a new page of CEED Application Form will open.

Step 5: After login, fill the CEED Application form with required details and click on “save” button.

Step 6: CEED Application Form will contains information like Name, Fathers Name, Address, Academic details, examination Centre, Contact Information etc..

Step 7: Now upload photograph and signature in CEED application Form.

Step 8: Photograph should be passport size photograph with plane background.

Step 9: Signature should be candidate running hand signature and should be scanned.

Step 10: Now go for the payment Mode and then fill the required details accordingly.

Step 11: Once payment has been successfully paid take the copy of filled Application From and Fee receipt as proof for further usage.

Step 12: Applicants don’t need to send hardcopy of Application Form to the authority.

APPLICATION FEES

The payment can be done by using debit cards/credit cards, internet banking, IMPS, cash cards/mobile wallets. The fee structure is given below:

EXAM CENTERS

1. CEED examination will be conducted in the following cities:Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh/Mohali, Coimbatore, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hubballi (Hubli), Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Panaji, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, and Visakhapatnam.
2. Candidates should compulsorily choose THREE cities in the order of preference during the online registration. Once the registration form is submitted, a request for a city change will NOT be entertained.
3. If a sufficient number of candidates are unavailable in a city, that city may be dropped from the final list, and candidates will be allotted to a city of their second or third choice. The UCEED-CEED Implementation Committee (UCIC) reserves the right to add a new city or remove an existing one and allot a city the candidate may not have chosen.
4. Any request for a change of centre will NOT be entertained.

ADMISSION TO THE EXAMINATION CENTERS

1. Make sure to reach the exam center at least one hour before the examination.
2. Candidates are required to carry a valid copy of the admit card and identity proof to the CEED exam centres.
3. Avoid talking inside the exam hall. You will be disqualified from the exam in case if found either copying or giving assistance to others.
4. Do not carry electronic devices inside the examination center.
5. Maintaining a social distance is a must at the exam center.
6. Make sure to follow the rules instructed by the invigilator in the exam hall.

ADMIT CARD

Admit Card will be available for downloading from the official CEED website (www.ceed.iitb.ac.in) from January 02, 2026 till the examination date. Please bring a clear printout of the Admit Card when coming to the examination centre.

Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to download admit card for the CEED exam:

Step – 3:  Enter email ID and password

Step – 4:  View CEED admit card

Step – 5:  Download CEED admit card & take a coloured print of the document

Step – 6:  Check the details printed on the CEED admit card

EXAM RESULT

CEED Score Card will be available for download from March 4, 2026, on the official CEED website (www.ceed.iitb.ac.in) through the candidate’s login. Score Card will NOT be available for download after June 31, 2026. A hard copy of the CEED Score Card will NOT be sent to any candidate.

Part-A marks will be displayed for ALL the candidates who have successfully appeared in the exam and Part-B marks will be displayed for ONLY shortlisted candidates. All shortlisted candidates will get a rank.
