UPCET Examination 2023
For 2023-24, Admission to various UG/PG courses is now based on CUET scores. Admission to the B.Tech course will be done through JEE main score and admission to Architecture courses will be done through NATA score card.
Formerly known as UPSEE, the Uttar Pradesh Combined Entrance Test (UPCET) is a gateway for candidates seeking admission to various professional courses offered at undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) levels in all affiliated institutes of AKTU, Lucknow, Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Gorakhpur and Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur.
Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur has been established in the year 2013 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in the form of a non-affiliating, teaching and research University after reconstituting the Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College, Gorakhpur which was established in 1962. The college is best known for B.Tech, BBA, B.Pharma, MBA, MCA, M.Tech, Ph.D, etc. The admissions to these courses are conducted through MET, JEE MAINS, CUET (UG), CUET (PG) and GATE.

UPCET 2023: Important Dates
The MMMUT admission for session 2023-24 is changed depending on the course. Admission to the course is via MET, JEE MAINS, CUET (UG), CUET (PG) and GATE. Candidates can check the important dates for various Entrance exams.

UPCET 2023: Who can apply
Educational Qualification
For admission to first year of B. Des. / B. Pharm. / BHMCT / BFAD / BFA / B. Voc / MCA (Integrated)/ MBA (Integrated)
The subject combination required in the qualifying examination (Intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent) for admission to first year of different courses shall be as follows:

For admission to first year of MCA (Integrated)
Candidate must have passed (with/without grace) intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent with compulsory subjects and one of the optional subjects as specified in the table mentioned above and obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
For admission to first year of B. Pharm
Candidate must have passed (with/without grace) intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics/ Biology subject.
For admission to first year of BHMCT /BFAD /BFA/B Voc/ B. Des/MBA(Integrated)
Candidate must have passed (with/without grace) intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent securing minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST category candidates) in aggregate.
Nationality/Citizenship
The candidate must be either of the following :-
1. Indian National
2. Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
3. Foreign National
4. Non-Resident Indian (NRI)
Age Limit
There is no age limit prescribed by National Testing Agency for candidates appearing for UPCET.

UPCET 2023: How can apply
Below are the steps that the students need to follow when completing the application form for UPCET:
1. Registration: To apply for UPCET, candidates will have to register on the official website. To register for the exam, candidates had to enter certain details. After successful registration, candidates were provided the registration number and password.
2. Filling up the UPCET application form: The next step is to fill UPCET application form. Candidates need to fill their personal, academic, and contact details in the application form and note down system-generated application numbers. They also have to create a password that will be used for future logins. Below are the details that the candidates should fill in the application form.
Basic details: Here, candidates need to fill in the category, nationality, personal details, select exam centres, date of birth, gender, father’s name or mother’s name, address, etc.
Educational qualification, work experience & languages: Here, candidates need to enter details of their graduation such as year of passing, college, percentage of marks, grade (if any). They are also required to enter their work experience. Candidates are also required to enter the languages they can read, write and speak.
3. Upload of Prescribed Documents & Images (Photographs and Scanned Signatures): upload photographs, signatures.After filling UPCET application form, candidates will be asked to upload the scanned copies of their recent passport size photograph and specimen signature as per the given specifications.

4. Choose your Test City Pay the Examination Fee: While applying, candidates have to select any four cities of their choice. The efforts will be made to allow the city of examination to the candidates in order of choice opted by them in their online Application Form. However, due to administrative/logistic reasons, a different city can be allotted. The candidates can pay the application fees in online mode only. For online payment, candidates can pay through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking /Paytm /UPI.
5. Print the Confirmation page: The last step is to take printouts of the confirmation page, after successful payment of application fees.

UPCET 2023: Admission to the Examination Centres
1. The Examination Centre will be opened two hours before the commencement of the test. Therefore, candidates must ensure that they leave home well in advance considering all facts like traffic, location of the Centre, weather conditions, etc. Candidates are expected to take their seats immediately after the opening of the Examination Hall.
2. The candidate must show, on-demand, the Admit Card for admission in the Examination Hall. A candidate who does not possess a valid Admit Card shall not be allowed to enter the Examination Hall by the Centre Superintendent.
3. A seat with a roll number will be allotted to each candidate. Candidates must find out and occupy their allotted seats. If a candidate is found appearing in the Examination from a seat or room other than the allotted one, the candidature shall be cancelled.
4. During the examination time, the Invigilator will check Admit Card of the candidates to ascertain the identity of each candidate. The Invigilators will also put their own signature in the place provided in the Answer Sheet and on the Attendance Sheet.
5. A candidate who comes late shall not be permitted to enter the Examination Centre under any circumstances.
6. Candidates are not allowed to bring any barred item or any item which could be used for Unfair practices. Possession of any such article with the candidates inside the Centre premises will attract the penalties of unfair practices.

UPCET 2023: Admit Card
Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to download admit card for the UPCET exam:
STEP 1- Go to the Official Website.
STEP 2- Click on the download UPCET admit card link given on the homepage.
STEP 3- Fill in the application number and Date of Birth.
STEP 4- After providing the credentials, the candidates will have to click on the ‘Submit ‘ button.
STEP 5- The admit card will be displayed on the screen.
STEP 6- Finally, the candidates will have to download and print out the UPCET admit card.
UPCET 2023: Result
Candidates need to enter their UPCET application number and password to check the result. Candidate can check their results by following the steps listed below:
STEP 1- Visit the Official Website.
STEP 2- Click on the result link.
STEP 3- Candidates will have to enter their UPCET application number and date of birth.
STEP 4 -UPCET result download has to be done for future use.
STEP 5- Take a printout of it and keep it safely for further use.
UPCET 2023: Mode of Selection
Candidates interested in applying for UG and PG courses in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Hotel Management, Pharmacy, Management etc. at various Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) affiliated colleges and MMMUT affiliated colleges will be required to participate in the UPCET Counselling Process.

UTTAR PRADESH COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (UPCET)
Till 2020, the entrance exams earlier known as Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) were held in paper pen mode for admission to various courses including B.Tech., BBA, B.Arch., BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, B. Voc, B. Pharm, B. Des.,MBA, MCA, MBA (Integrated), M.Tech., M.Tech. (Integrated), M.Sc. and Lateral entry to B. Tech/B. Pharm.
Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) has entrusted the task of conducting the entrance exam for admission to courses BBA, B. Pharm, MBA, MCA, M. Sc., M. Tech. and Lateral entry to B. Tech. offered by them, to NTA.

UPCET MODE OF EXAMINATION
UPCET will be held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The paper will be of objective type comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
UPCET MEDIUM OF EXAMINATION
Undergraduate Courses, MBA (Integrated) & MCA (Integrated) courses
1. The question papers of undergraduate courses and MBA (Integrated) and MCA (Integrated) courses will be bi-lingual both in English and Hindi.
2. In case of any ambiguity, the English version shall be considered as final.
Postgraduate Courses
The question papers for post graduate level exams will be in English only.
UPCET MARKING SCHEME
1. For each correct Answer, 4 marks will be awarded.
2. No Negative marking for wrong answers.
3. On examining of the representations by the subject experts, if it is found that more than one option are correct, then marks will be awarded to all those candidates who have attempted any one of the correct options.
4. If all options are found to be correct – Full marks to be awarded to all students, who have attempted the question.
5. If none of the options is correct/ Question is found to be wrong – All students who attempted the question would be awarded full marks.
Normalisation of Marks
Normalisation procedure based on Percentile Score will be used for ensuring that candidates are neither benefitted nor disadvantaged due to the difficulty level of the examination.
Percentile Scores: Percentile scores are scores based on the relative performance of all those who appear for the examination. Basically the marks obtained are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees.
Preparation of Results for each Session:

Till 2020, the entrance exams earlier known as Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) were held in paper pen mode for admission to various courses including B.Tech., BBA, B.Arch., BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, B. Voc, B. Pharm, B. Des.,MBA, MCA, MBA (Integrated), M.Tech., M.Tech. (Integrated), M.Sc. and Lateral entry to B. Tech/B. Pharm.

UTTAR PRADESH COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (UPCET)
Candidates willing to apply for UPCET Examination are required to fulfil certain conditions to be eligible for it. The candidate who does not satisfy the Eligibility criteria like Age, Minimum educational qualification etc., their candidature shall be rejected by the authorities.
The criteria for eligibility UPCET are decided by the conduction body itself.
The candidate’s eligibility for UPCET Examination is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions :-

UPCET NATIONALITY
The candidate must be either of the following :-
1. Indian National
2. Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
3. Foreign National
4. Non-Resident Indian (NRI)
UPCET AGE LIMIT
There is no age limit prescribed by National Testing Agency for candidates appearing for UPCET.
UPCET ESSENTIAL CONDITIONS
1. This Entrance Examination is open to the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from any institution located in U.P. or whose parents are domicile of U.P subject to the eligibility conditions.If the candidate has passed qualifying examination from outside U.P., he/she has to produce domicile certificate of his/her parents (Father OR Mother only) at the time of verification of the document
2. This Entrance Examination is also open to the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from any institution located outside U.P. and whose parents (both Father and Mother) are not domicile of U.P. subject to the eligibility conditions.
3. Candidates who are due to appear for the qualifying examination or have appeared, but results are awaited, are also eligible to appear in the UPCET. However, the candidates in respect of whom, the result of the qualifying examination has not been declared till the date of the document verification, due to any reason whatsoever, shall not be eligible for admission under any circumstances.
UPCET: COURSE-WISE ELIGIBILITY
For Admission in B. Tech 2nd year (Lateral), B. Pharm, BBA, MBA, MCA AND M.Sc. Courses
2nd year B.Tech :-
1. Diploma holders: Passed 3/4 year diploma examination from an institution recognized by U.P. Board of Technical Education in any branch of engineering/technology except agriculture engineering with at least 60% marks (55% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category).
2. B.Sc. graduates: Passed 3/4 year B.Sc. degree from any recognized University of India as defined by UGC with at least 60% marks (55% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) and having passed 10+2 exam with Mathematics as a subject.
3. The candidates belonging to B.Sc. stream shall be considered only after filling the seats with the candidates belonging to the diploma stream
B.B.A. :-
The candidate should have passed 10 + 2 examination in any discipline, with at least 55% marks (50% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) and English must be one of the subjects at 10+2 level.
B. Pharm :-
The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with at least 55% marks (50% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) having Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics / Biology.
M.B.A. :-
The candidate should have passed the recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration from any University of India as recognized by UGC with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination.
M.C.A. :-
The candidate should have passed the recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration from any University of India as defined by UGC with mathematics at 10+2 level and obtained minimum 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination.
M.Sc. Physics :-
The candidate should have passed the recognized Bachelor’s degree in science stream of minimum three years duration from any University of India as recognized by UGC. The candidates must have passed qualifying examination with Physics as a subject for all the three years and with mathematics as another subject for at least two years and obtained minimum 50%marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination.
M.Sc. Maths :-
The candidate should have passed the recognized Bachelor’s degree in science stream of minimum three years duration from any University of India as recognized by UGC. The candidates must have passed qualifying examination with Mathematics as a subject for all the three years and obtained minimum 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination.
M.Sc. Chemistry :-
The candidate should have passed the recognized Bachelor’s degree in science stream of minimum three years duration from any University of India as recognized by UGC. The candidates must have passed qualifying examination with Chemistry as a subject for all the three years and obtained minimum 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination.
For admission in M.Tech Courses
B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent Engineering degree in Civil/ Environmental/ Chemical/ Structural/ Agricultural/ Construction Technology/ Construction Technology and Management with First Class or, if a class/ division is not awarded, and CGPA/CPI is adopted, 6.75 will be considered equivalent to first class/ division.
UPCET ELIGIBILITY HIGHLIGHTS
1. Indian Nationals/ NRI/ PIO/ Foreign Nationals candidates are eligible to apply for UPCET.
2. There is no age limit for admission into courses through UPCET.
3. For admission into UG courses, students must have passed their 12th level or its equivalent from a recognized board or university. While for admission into PG courses, students must have done graduation.
4. Candidates appearing for 12th level can also apply for UG courses. For PG admission, students appearing in the last year of their qualifying exam can apply.

The notification for UPCET was released by NTA on 1st April 2021. The last date for application has been extended in the view of COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
The last date for registration, which was 30th April 2020 earlier, now is 30th June 2021. The Exam which was scheduled earlier on 15th June 2021 has now been postponed and fresh dates will be announced in due course.
