A total of 20 Assistant Commandant (Executive) posts have been announced by the commission for the year 2026 recruitment. The Union Public Service Commission will conduct the CISF AC (EXE) LDCE 2025 exam on March 08, 2026.

VACANCY DETAILED
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) 2026 on 08th March 2026 to fill the posts of Assistant Commandant (Executive) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The examination will be held in New Delhi. A total of 20 vacancies are proposed to be filled through this examination.

SALARY STRUCTURE
For UPSC CISF Assistant Commandant (Executive) through LDCE (Departmental Exam), the salary structure is the same as a regular CISF AC because it is a Group ‘A’ Gazetted post.
Pay is as per 7th Pay Commission:

HOW TO APPLY
The application process is conducted in a hybrid mode, where candidates must first apply online through the UPSC portal and then submit a hard copy of the application to CISF for verification. All applicants are required to register again using the new Universal Registration Number (URN) system, as the previous One Time Registration (OTR) is no longer valid.
Step 1: Access the UPSC Online Application Portal
Visit the official website: https://upsconline.nic.in.
This portal has four main parts:
Account Creation: Create a new account if not already registered.
Universal Registration Number (URN): Generate a lifetime URN (register once; can be done anytime throughout the year).
Common Application Form (CAF): Fill in common details (personal, educational, etc.).
Exam Specific Form: Fill details specific to CISF AC (Exe) LDCE 2026.
Detailed instructions are available on the homepage and within each module. Read them carefully before starting.
Strongly recommended: Use Aadhaar Card as your Photo ID for seamless verification.
Step 2: Register and Generate URN (If Not Done)
Click on the registration link on the UPSC website.
Provide basic details like name, date of birth, email, mobile number, and Photo ID details.
Verify via OTP sent to your email/mobile.
Once registered, you’ll receive a unique URN. Note it down; it’s lifelong and used for all future UPSC applications.
If already registered, log in using URN and password.
Step 3: Fill the Common Application Form (CAF)
Log in with URN.
Fill in all required fields accurately:
Personal details (name, father’s name, DOB, gender, etc.).
Contact details (address, email, mobile).
Educational qualifications (graduation details from a recognized university).
Category (General/SC/ST; upload certificate if applicable).
Service details (CISF rank, years of service, etc.).
Other claims (e.g., NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate if possessed, as it’s desirable).
Upload scanned documents as prompted (e.g., photo, signature, ID proof, certificates).
Photo: Recent, clear, in JPG (20-300 KB).
Signature: In JPG (20-300 KB).
Ensure all information is correct; no changes allowed after submission.
Save and proceed.
Step 4: Fill the Exam Specific Form
After CAF, select the CISF AC (Exe) LDCE 2026 exam.
Provide exam-specific details, such as confirmation of eligibility (service record, etc.).
Upload any additional required documents (e.g., proof of service in CISF).
Review all entries in both the CAF and the Exam Specific Form.
Submit the online application. You’ll get a confirmation and application number.
Note: No additions/deletions/changes allowed post-submission in URN, CAF, or Exam Form.
Step 5: Print and Route Hard Copy for Verification
After online submission, print a hard copy of the filled application form.
Route it through the proper channel (your CISF unit/appropriate authority) for certification.
Send the certified hard copy along with necessary enclosures/certificates to:
Director General, Central Industrial Security Force, 13, CGO Complex, Lodi Road, New Delhi-110003.
Deadline: Must reach CISF by January 9, 2026.
CISF will verify eligibility (e.g., service record, punishments) and forward to UPSC.
UPSC’s decision on eligibility is final.
ADMIT CARD
The exam is scheduled for March 8, 2026, in New Delhi only. As per the official UPSC notice (dated December 3, 2025), the e-Admit Card will be issued to eligible candidates one week before the commencement of the examination (i.e., approximately from late February to early March 2026, around March 1, 2026 onwards). It will be made available only on the UPSC website for downloading—no physical admit card will be sent by post.

SELECTION PROCESS
The process for CISF AC (EXE) LDCE typically includes the following stages (based on the official scheme and consistent patterns from UPSC notifications):
Written Examination (conducted by UPSC):

EXAM SYLLABUS
The UPSC CISF AC (Assistant Commandant–Executive) syllabus is divided into two papers. Paper I (General Ability, Intelligence & Professional Skill) is an objective-type paper that tests reasoning ability, general science, current events, general awareness, and CISF-specific professional knowledge. EXAM PATTERN

Paper II
Paper II shall be held as a Descriptive Type Offline Pen & paper-based test. It shall contain a total of 100 marks and is required to completed within 120 minutes.

Mode of Examination
1. Paper-I of CISF AC(EXE) LDCE Examination shall be conducted as Offline Pen & Paper Based Test. Questions shall be Objective Type.
2. Paper-II of CISF AC(EXE) LDCE Examination shall be conducted as Offline Pen & Paper Based Test. Questions shall be Descriptive Type.
Medium of Examination
1. The Paper-I which involves Objective Type Questions, shall be set in English as well as Hindi.
2. This paper will involve Descriptive Type Questions in which the candidates will be given an option to write the Essay components in English or Hindi. But the medium of Comprehension Components, Précis Writing, and other communications/language skills will be English only.
Marking Scheme
There is no negative marking system in any of the CISF – AC (EXE) LDCE written tests.
PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST
UPSC shall conduct a physical Efficiency test as per the criteria given below:

NOTE – These Tests will be only of qualifying nature and will not carry any marks. Failure even in one of these tests will amount to disqualification. Pregnancy at the time of PET will be a disqualification and pregnant female candidates will be rejected.
INTERVIEW / PERSONALITY TEST
Candidates, who are declared qualified in the Medical Standards Tests {consisting of Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Review Medical Examination (RME), if required}, will be called for the Interview/Personality Test to be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. Candidates, who are declared unfit during Detailed Medical Examination (DME) will be allowed to undergo Review Medical Examination (RME), provided they give their written consent by appending their signature on the intimation indicating the reasons for being unfit. The candidates who are declared medically fit in DME or RME will be called for Interview/Personality Test. The Interview/Personality Test will carry 200 marks.
The Interview/Personality Test would be conducted by a Board of competent and unbiased persons who will have before them a record of the candidates. The candidate will be asked questions both in his/her own field as well as matters of general interest to test his/her awareness and understanding. In broad terms, this will be an assessment of not only his/her mental calibre but also his/her social traits and integrity of character.
The Board would broadly assess the candidate inter-alia in the following:
1. Physical Make-up

(c) Manners and Mannerism
2. General Intelligence, Aptitude and Interest
(a) Ability to perceive, analyse and present facts and situation.
(b) Work-related aptitudes, like discipline, empathy, etc.

3. Disposition
(a) Leadership, drive, determination, quick decision-making, etc.
(b) Self-reliance.
(c) Ability to face stress and crisis
(d) Courage-moral and physical.
4. Behavioural aspect of personality
(a) Inter-personal relations with superiors and subordinates.
(b) Commitment to values, integrity, secular and national orientation.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidates who are willing to apply for the CISF AC (EXECUTIVE) LDCE Examination are required to fulfill certain conditions to be eligible for it. The candidate who does not satisfy the Eligibility criteria like Age, Minimum educational qualification, etc., their candidature shall be rejected by the authorities. Only a citizen of India will be eligible.
Age Limit & Relaxation
A candidate must not have attained the age of 35 years.
The upper age limit prescribed above shall be relaxable upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Schedule Caste or a Schedule Tribe.
Educational Qualification
1. The Educational Qualification for appearing in the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination will be a Graduation from a recognized University.
2. Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate will be a desirable qualification. These desirable qualifications will be given consideration at the time of interview/Personality Test only.
3. The candidates should have completed 04 years of regular service in the rank of Sub. Inspector (GD)/Inspector(GD) including the period of basic training and should have clean record of service till issue of offer of appointment.

Note 1. These Tests will be only of qualifying nature and will not carry any marks. Failure even in one of these tests will amount to disqualification.
Note 2. A woman candidate, who as a result of tests is found to be pregnant of 12 weeks standing or over, shall be declared temporarily unfit and her appointment held in abeyance until the confinement is over. The vacancy against which a women candidate was selected should be kept reserved for her. She should be re-examined for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) six weeks after the date of confinement, subject to the production of the medical certificate of fitness from a registered medical practitioner. If she is found fit she may be appointed to the post kept reserved for her and allow the benefit of seniority in accordance with the instructions of the government, as amended from time to time

Note
1. The candidate should not have squint of any degree and should have high colour vision.
2. The candidate will be tested for colour vision by Ishahara’s test as well as Edridge-Green Lantern Test.
3. Eyes should be bright, clear with no abnormality/disease.
4. Movements of eyeballs should be full and free in all direction.
5. In every case of Myopia, fundus examination should be carried out, and the results should be recorded
6. Contact lenses or laser surgery is not allowed.
(b) Carrying angle
Carrying angle should not be more than 15o for male and 20o for female.
(c) Ear
1. Candidate should not have any degree of deafness or persistent ear discharge.
2. Candidate should not have any other condition (congenital or acquired) like atresia of the meatus, exostosis, neoplasm which is causing obstruction of ear passage and should not have history or recurrent earache, tinnitus and vertigo.
(d) Nose
Candidate should not have DNS, atrophic rhinitis, tubercular ulceration, chronic sinusitis
(e) Neck
Candidate should not have enlarged lymph nodes, thyroid or other swelling of neck, inability to extend the neck fully or any evidence of disease of spine or cervical vertebrae.
(f) Teeth
Candidate must possess sufficient number of sound teeth for efficient mastication. Candidate should not have severe pyorrhea.
(g) Venereal Disease
Candidate should not have active signs of clinical VD.
(h) Chronic skin diseases
Candidate should not have chronic skin diseases like Leprosy, chronic dermatitis, extensive Pityriasis Versicolor, psoriasis, SLE etc.
GENERAL STANDARDS
1. Speech should be without impediment i.e. no stammering
2. The candidate should not have any indication of chronic disease like TB, any type of arthritis, high blood pressure, Diabetes, Bronchial Asthma, any heart disease.
3. Candidate should not have perceptible and visible glandular swelling anywhere in the body.
4. Chest should be well-formed, devoid of any abnormality like flat chest, pigeon chest, with rickety rosary defects. Heart and lungs should be sound.
5. Limbs, hands and feet should be well-formed and fully developed and there shall be perfect motion of all joints.
6. Should not have any old/mal united fracture of bones
7. There should be free and perfect movements of all the joints.
8. Feet and toes should be well-formed.
9. Should not have congenital malformation or defects.
10. Should not bear traces of previous acute or chronic disease pointing to any impaired constitution.
11. Candidate should have no disease of the genito-urinary tract
12. Candidate should have no inguinal, scrotal swelling, any type of Hernia.
13. (Only for male) Both the testicles are in the scrotum and of normal size
14. The candidate must not have knock knees, flat foot, varicose veins
15.They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
16. Candidate should not suffer from TACHYCARDIA (more than 100 pulse rate per minute) or BRADYCARDIA (less than 50 per minute).
17. Candidate should not suffer from Hernia, hemorrhoids, condylomata prolapse rectum.
NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS
Every candidate appearing at the examination who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted three attempts at the examination.
