Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test (BTET) 2022
The Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test, commonly known as Bihar TET, is a state-level examination for candidates who wish to build a career in teaching. The exam consists of two papers – Paper I for teachers of Classes 1 to 5 and Paper II for teachers of Classes 6 to 8. The test is conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) for recruitment of primary and upper primary teachers in government schools of Bihar. Candidates who have completed B.Ed. and wish to work as teachers in government or private schools in Bihar must qualify for this exam with a valid score.

BTET 2022 Exam Dates
The Bihar Government has cancelled the BTET 2022 examination and no new dates have been announced. The last BTET examination was conducted in 2021.
Application Start: 9 September 2021
Application End: 18 September 2021
Admit Card Release: 2 November 2021
Exam Date: 17 November 2021
Result Date: 5 December 2021
BTET Application Process
The application process is conducted online. Eligible candidates must register, fill out the form, upload documents, pay the fee, and submit the application carefully. Incorrect information may lead to rejection.
Registration Steps:
Visit the official website → Click on “Register New Candidate” → Complete registration → Login → Fill personal, academic, and communication details → Save and submit.
Document Upload Specifications:
Photograph: 100–150 KB, JPG format
Signature: 50–100 KB, JPG format
Fee Structure:
General/OBC/BC – ₹500 (one paper), ₹800 (both papers)
SC/ST – ₹300 (one paper), ₹500 (both papers)
After successful payment, candidates should print the confirmation page for future reference.
BTET Admit Card
The admit card will be available on the official website. Candidates must carry a printed admit card along with a valid photo ID to the examination center.

Visit official website → Click on Admit Card link → Login using registration details → Download and print the admit card.
BTET Exam Centres
The examination is conducted across various districts of Bihar including Purnea, Munger, Bhagalpur, Saharsa, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Patna, Magadh, Chhapra and other major divisions covering districts such as Katihar, Araria, Begusarai, Madhubani, Nalanda, Gaya, Siwan, and more.
BTET Result
The result will be declared on the official website. Candidates can check their result by entering their roll number and date of birth.

The Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test is a state-level examination conducted for candidates who wish to become teachers in Classes VI to VIII. Paper II is designed for the Elementary Stage and evaluates subject knowledge along with teaching ability.

Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test (BTET)
The Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test is commonly known as Bihar TET. It is a state-level eligibility examination for candidates who wish to pursue a teaching career. The examination consists of two papers. Paper I is for teachers of Classes I to V, while Paper II is for teachers of Classes VI to VIII. The test is conducted by the state government through the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).
BTET Exam Pattern (Paper II)
Paper II consists of five sections, out of which candidates need to attempt four sections. The total number of questions is 150 and the total marks are also 150. The duration of the examination is 150 minutes.

Candidates applying for subject teaching must choose either Mathematics & Science or Social Studies/Social Science based on their teaching preference.
Important Note: Both Language I and Language II are compulsory. The languages chosen for Language I and Language II must be different. Candidates can select from a prescribed list of languages.
Mode of Examination
BTET Paper II will be conducted as an objective-type offline pen and paper based examination.
Medium of Examination
The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi and English).
Marking Scheme
Each question carries 1 mark.
There is no negative marking in the examination.

BTET Eligibility Criteria (Paper II)
Candidates who wish to apply for BTET Paper II must fulfill certain eligibility conditions. Candidates who do not meet the required criteria such as age limit or educational qualification will have their candidature rejected. The eligibility conditions for BTET Paper II are decided by the conducting authority.
Nationality
Candidates must be citizens of India and should also hold domicile of Bihar to be eligible for the BTET examination.
Age Limit and Relaxations
The minimum age required is 21 years, and the general upper age limit is 35 years. However, age relaxation is provided for different categories as per government rules.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must fulfill any of the following educational qualifications to be eligible for BTET Paper II:
Graduation (B.A./B.Sc.) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in B.Ed. with minimum 50% marks.
Candidates having a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) with at least 50% marks.
Graduation with at least 50% marks along with a one-year D.El.Ed.
Final-year students of B.Ed., two-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or Diploma in Special Education are also eligible to apply.
Important Notes
Teacher education qualifications must be recognized by the Central Government, State Government, or the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Diploma in Special Education or B.Ed. (Special Education) must be recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
Technical education degrees (such as polytechnic), oriental language degrees (Maulvi, Sub-Shastri), or similar qualifications are not valid for general teacher recruitment.
Validity of Certificate and Number of Attempts
The BTET qualifying certificate is valid for a lifetime. There is no restriction on the number of attempts. Candidates who have already qualified BTET can reappear to improve their score.
