LATEST UPDATE

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the SSC CPO 2025 notification on its official website www.ssc.gov.in for the recruitment of Sub-Inspector (SI) in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). The online application process was conducted from 26 September to 26 October 2025. After the completion of the application process, SSC conducted the Paper-I (Computer-Based Examination) from 9 to 12 December 2025.

Since the SSC CAPF (Sub-Inspector) Paper-I exam was held from 9 to 12 December 2025, the result is expected to be declared in December 2025 or early January 2026 as per the usual SSC timeline of releasing results within 4–6 weeks after the examination.


OVERVIEW

The SSC CPO (Central Police Organization) exam is a national-level examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police, Sub-Inspector (General Duty) in CAPFs, and Assistant Sub-Inspector in CISF.

VACANCY DETAILS

Vacancies are released separately for male and female candidates for Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs. In the previous cycle, the total vacancies were approximately 5,516 (Delhi Police and CAPFs combined), with separate reservation for categories and Ex-Servicemen.

Sub-Inspector (Delhi Police / CAPFs) – Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 (Level-6)
Assistant Sub-Inspector (CISF) – Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300

EXAM CENTERS

ADMIT CARD

The SSC CPO Admit Card will be released region-wise before the exam. Candidates can download it using their Registration ID and Password from the SSC regional website.

To apply for SSC CPO Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet the required eligibility conditions related to nationality, age, and educational qualification.

Nationality

A candidate must be:

Candidates from Nepal or Bhutan must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. If required, the appointment will be given only after submission of this certificate.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage based on performance in Paper I. Final selection will be based on Paper I and Paper II marks along with post/force preference.

Once a candidate is allotted a post as per merit and preference, no further change will be made.

The SSC CPO syllabus is different for Paper I and Paper II.

The SSC CPO Paper I will be conducted as a Computer-Based Examination and will consist only of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions.


Medium of Examination

  • Questions from General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and Quantitative Aptitude will be available in both English and Hindi.

  • Questions from English Comprehension will be available only in English.


Marking Scheme

  • 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer.

  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

  • No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.

  • Based on the marks scored in Paper I, candidates will be shortlisted category-wise for Paper II.


Minimum Qualifying Marks

  • UR: 30%

  • OBC / EWS: 25%

  • All Other Categories: 20%


Normalisation of Marks

If the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, the Staff Selection Commission will normalize the scores to account for variations in difficulty levels across different shifts. The normalized score will be used for merit calculation.


Physical Standard Test (PST)

For Male Candidates

  • General Category: Height – 170 cm, Chest – 80 cm (unexpanded), 85 cm (expanded)

  • Hill Areas / Special Categories: Height – 165 cm

  • Scheduled Tribes: Height – 162.5 cm, Chest – 77 cm (unexpanded), 82 cm (expanded)

For Female Candidates

  • General Category: Height – 157 cm

  • Hill Areas / Special Categories: Height – 155 cm

  • Scheduled Tribes: Height – 154 cm

  • Chest measurement is not applicable for female candidates.


Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

For Male Candidates

  • 100 meter race in 16 seconds

  • 1.6 km race in 6.5 minutes

  • Long Jump: 3.65 meters (3 attempts)

  • High Jump: 1.2 meters (3 attempts)

  • Shot Put (16 lbs): 4.5 meters (3 attempts)

For Female Candidates

  • 100 meter race in 18 seconds

  • 800 meter race in 4 minutes

  • Long Jump: 2.7 meters (3 attempts)

  • High Jump: 0.9 meters (3 attempts)


Important Notes

  1. PST and PET are qualifying in nature and do not carry any marks.

  2. Candidates must qualify both PST and PET to be eligible for Paper II.

  3. Chest measurement is not required for female candidates.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for SSC CPO Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet the prescribed eligibility conditions. Applicants must satisfy the requirements related to nationality, age limit, educational qualification, and medical standards before applying. The detailed eligibility criteria are given below.

Nationality

A candidate must be either a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan. Candidates belonging to Nepal or Bhutan must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. Such candidates may be allowed to appear in the examination, but the appointment will be granted only after the required eligibility certificate is issued.

Age Limit (as on 01 August 2025)

The age of the candidate should be between 20 and 25 years.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government rules:

  • SC / ST – 5 years

  • OBC – 3 years

  • Ex-Servicemen – 3 years after deduction of military service from the actual age (for SI and ASI posts in CAPFs)

  • Candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 01 January 1980 and 31 December 1989 – 5 years (for ASI in CISF only)

  • Central Government civilian employees with at least 3 years of regular service – up to 40 years

  • Central Government civilian employees (SC / ST) with at least 3 years of regular service – up to 45 years

  • Widows, divorced women, or women judicially separated and not remarried – up to 35 years

  • Widows, divorced women, or women judicially separated (SC / ST) – up to 40 years

  • Departmental candidates of Delhi Police (Unreserved) with at least 3 years of service – up to 30 years

  • Departmental candidates of Delhi Police (OBC) with at least 3 years of service – up to 33 years

  • Departmental candidates of Delhi Police (SC / ST) with at least 3 years of service – up to 35 years

Educational Qualification

For the post of Sub-Inspector (GD) in Delhi Police and CAPFs, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

For the post of Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police (Male candidates only), a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) is mandatory as on the date of the Physical Endurance and Standard Test. Candidates without a valid driving license will not be allowed to appear for the Physical Tests.

Medical Standards

Candidates who qualify Paper II will undergo a medical examination conducted by the Medical Officer of CAPFs or any authorized medical officer from a Central or State Government hospital. Candidates declared unfit can appeal to the Review Medical Board within 15 days. The decision of the Review Medical Board will be final.

Medical requirements include:

  • Eye Sight: Minimum near vision of N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye). Minimum distant vision should be 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye) without any correction such as glasses, lenses, or surgery.

  • Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, or squint in the eyes and should possess good color vision.

  • Candidates must be in good mental and physical health and free from any defect that may interfere with the efficient performance of duties.
