Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality

A candidate must be:

  • A citizen of India.

  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan.

  • Assistant Audit/Accounts Officer: Bachelor’s Degree. Desirable: CA, CMA, CS, M.Com, or MBA (Finance).

  • All Other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

  • Note: Final year students may apply provisionally if they complete their degree before the cutoff date.

Exam Syllabus

Selection Process

The selection is strictly merit-based and involves the following stages:

  1. Tier-I: Qualifying in nature. Marks are used to shortlist candidates for Tier-II.

  2. Tier-II: The primary determinant of the merit list.

    • Section I & II: Used for ranking.

    • Section III (Computer) & Section IV (DEST): Qualifying in nature (Higher cut-offs applied for specific posts like ASO/Inspector).

Female Candidates

The important dates for SSC CGL 2025–26 indicate that the official notification is expected to be released in mid-2025, followed by the start of the online application process shortly after. The last date to apply and pay the application fee usually falls within three to four weeks of notification release. The Tier-I examination is scheduled to be conducted in September 2025, while the Tier-I result is expected a few weeks later.
