Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the 450 posts of ‘Assistant-2023’ in the Reserve Bank of India, hereinafter referred to as ‘Bank’. Selection for the post will be through a country-wide competitive examination in two phases i.e., Preliminary and Main examination followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). Please note that Corrigendum, if any, issued on the above advertisement, will be published only on the Bank’s website – www.rbi.org.in. SALARY STRUCTURE

Assistants will draw a starting basic pay of Rs. 20,700/- per month in the scale of Rs. 20700 – 1200 (3) – 24300 – 1440 (4) – 30060 – 1920 (6) – 41580 – 2080 (2) – 45740 – 2370 (3) – 52850 – 2850 – 55700 (20 years) and other allowances, viz. Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc., as admissible from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments for Assistants will be approximately Rs. 45,050/-. *House Allowance of 15% of Pay will be paid to employees additionally, if they are not staying in Bank’s accommodation.

EXAM PATTERN

The RBI Assistant Exam Pattern is published annually alongside the official notification. Understanding the complete exam pattern is essential for scoring well in the examination. Candidates must first appear for the RBI Assistant Prelims Exam, which serves as the screening stage to shortlist candidates for the Mains Exam.

Mains exam pattern is given below:

  1. There will be 200 questions from 5 sections; English language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, Computer Knowledge, and General Awareness
  2. The time duration of the RBI Assistant Prelims Exam is 135 minutes (English language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability section for 20 minutes, Computer Knowledge for 20 minutes, and General Awareness for 25 minutes).
  3. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marksfor each incorrect answer, with no deduction for unanswered questions.
  4. The questions will be of an Objective type
  5. Except for English Language, other sections will be in English and Hindi.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates applying for the RBI Assistant recruitment must carefully review the RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria before submitting their applications. To meet the eligibility requirements set by the RBI, candidates must be within the age range of 20 to 28 years and possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks.

Applications are invited from eligible Indian Citizens for the post of “Assistant” in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Education Qualification

At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.

SELECTION PROCESS

The RBI Assistant Selection Process is likely to include three stages, providing a thorough evaluation of candidates for the position. These stages are the Preliminary Examination, the Main Examination, and the Language Proficiency Test. Each stage is designed to assess different aspects of the candidates’ abilities and knowledge, ensuring that only the most qualified individuals are selected for the role. This multi-phase process aims to evaluate reasoning skills, numerical aptitude, and language proficiency, ensuring a fair and comprehensive assessment.

Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Exam will consist of 100 objective-type questions for a total of 100 marks, to be completed in 60 minutes. It will include sections on English LanguageNumerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. Candidates must meet the sectional cutoffs to qualify for the Mains exam.

Mains Examination

The Mains Exam will feature 200 objective-type questions for 200 marks, to be completed in 135 minutes. It will cover sections like ReasoningEnglish LanguageNumerical AbilityGeneral Knowledge, and Computer Knowledge. Candidates must achieve the sectional cutoffs as well as the overall minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for the Language Proficiency Test.

HOW CAN APPLY

Candidates must meet the required educational qualifications and age limits to be eligible for the RBI Assistant Exam. Only those who fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria should apply online for the RBI Assistant posts; otherwise, their applications will be rejected. Step 1: Click on the NEW REGISTRATION button on the topmost right corner of the official website.

Step 2: Start your application process by providing the basic details such as name, contact number, email id, address, etc. and click on the save and next button.

Step 3: Upload your photograph, signature, and RBI Assistant Hand Written Declaration. Both the photograph and the signature must be clear and legible. The permissible file size of the photograph must be of a minimum of 20 KB and of a maximum of 50 KB and that of the signature must be of a minimum of 10 KB and of a maximum of 20 KB.

Step 4: Next, fill in your educational qualification details and professional qualification. Click on the save and next button after filling in the details.

Step 5: Preview your application form one last time as you won’t be allowed to make any changes further. Click on the save and next button after previewing your Application Form.

Step 6: Pay your Application Fee through an Online Payment Option, i.e. through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.

Step 7: Click on Final Submit Button. Your application form will be submitted successfully.

Candidates must download the RBI Assistant exam admit card from the official website, as it will not be sent via post. To access the website, candidates will need the following details:

  1. Registration No. / Roll No.
  2. Date of Birth / Password

The steps to download the admit card for RBI Assistant are given below:

  3. Upon clicking the link, candidates are redirected to the login page
  4. Candidates need to enter their registration number or roll number and date of birth or password
  5. On submitting the details, the admit card appears on the screen
  6. Download RBI Assistant admit card and take its printout.

RESULT

The Reserve Bank of India releases the RBI Assistant exam result within 1-2 weeks after the exam is concluded. Candidates who took the exam can view their result and scorecard on the official website. The results are announced separately for each stage, and the final merit list for RBI Assistant will be based on the Mains exam and Language Proficiency Test.

Education Qualification

At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.


SELECTION PROCESS

The RBI Assistant Selection Process is likely to include three stages, providing a thorough evaluation of candidates for the position. These stages are the Preliminary Examination, the Main Examination, and the Language Proficiency Test. Each stage is designed to assess different aspects of the candidates’ abilities and knowledge, ensuring that only the most qualified individuals are selected for the role. This multi-phase process aims to evaluate reasoning skills, numerical aptitude, and language proficiency, ensuring a fair and comprehensive assessment.

Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Exam will consist of 100 objective-type questions for a total of 100 marks, to be completed in 60 minutes. It will include sections on English LanguageNumerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. Candidates must meet the sectional cutoffs to qualify for the Mains exam.

Mains Examination

The Mains Exam will feature 200 objective-type questions for 200 marks, to be completed in 135 minutes. It will cover sections like ReasoningEnglish LanguageNumerical AbilityGeneral Knowledge, and Computer Knowledge. Candidates must achieve the sectional cutoffs as well as the overall minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for the Language Proficiency Test.

EXAM PATTERN

To be eligible for the RBI Assistant Main Examination, candidates need to qualify for the RBI Assistant Preliminary Examination with the required cut-off as decided by RBI authority. An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by RBI depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

RBI Assistant Main Examination is held as an Objective Type Online Computer Based Test. RBI Assistant Main Examination consists of total 200 questions and total 200 Marks. The total duration of examination is 135 Minutes.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

The candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned). Candidates not proficient in the Official / Local Language shall be disqualified.

Medium of Examination

1. Questions from the Reasoning, Computer Aptitude, General Awareness, English Language, and  Numerical Ability section is available in both English & Hindi.
2. For Objective Type Online Computer Based Test,  Questions from the English Language is available in only English.

Marking Scheme

Sections of the test are:

Questions from the above-mentioned sections are asked in RBI Assistant Main Examination where the English language comprises 40 Questions of 40 Marks, Reasoning comprises 40 questions of 40 marks, General Awareness comprises 40 Questions of 40 Marks and Numerical Ability comprises 40 questions of 40  Marks & Computer Knowledge comprises 40 questions of 40  Marks summing up to total 200 marks.

Marking Scheme Highlights

1. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
2. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Normalization of Score

The Reserve Bank of India makes use of the approach of Normalization to transform all marks right into a standardized layout to make it fair for all applicants appearing for the exam

1. The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions (if held) will be normalized using the Equipercentile method.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The candidates who qualify for the RBI Assistant Preliminary Examination with the required cut-off as decided by the RBI authority are eligible for RBI Assistant Main Examination. Based on the marks scored in Preliminary Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Mains Examination.

Candidates willing to apply for RBI ASSISTANT Examination are required to fulfill certain conditions to be eligible for it. The candidate who does not satisfy the Eligibility criteria like Age, Minimum educational qualification, etc., their candidature shall be rejected by the authorities.
The candidate’s eligibility for RBI ASSISTANT Examination is based on the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

Only the people who are citizens of India are eligible to apply for the post of Assistant in RBI.

Educational Qualification

3. Candidates applying for a post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office.

Note : The date of passing eligibility will be the date appearing on the mark-sheet or provisional certificate issued by the University/ Institute. In case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the University/ Institute, a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the University/ Institute indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website will be taken as the date of passing.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the 450 posts of ‘Assistant-2023’ in the Reserve Bank of India, hereinafter referred to as ‘Bank’. Selection for the post will be through a country-wide competitive examination in two phases i.e., Preliminary and Main examination followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). Please note that Corrigendum, if any, issued on the above advertisement, will be published only on the Bank’s website – www.rbi.org.in.
