The IBPS Clerk Notification 2025 for CRP CSA-XV was officially released on
31st July 2025 on the official website www.ibps.in.
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the IBPS Clerk
Examination every year to recruit candidates for clerical positions in
public sector banks across India.
For the year 2025, IBPS has announced a total of 10,277 vacancies for
the post of Customer Service Associate (CSA). The online application process
will begin from 1st August 2025.
The Preliminary Examination is scheduled on 4th, 5th and 11th October 2025,
while the Main Examination will be conducted on 29th November 2025.
OVERVIEW
IBPS Clerk Recruitment is a national-level examination conducted annually
to select eligible candidates for clerical cadre posts in 11 participating
public sector banks. The selection process consists of two stages:
Preliminary Examination followed by the Main Examination.
Candidates qualifying the Prelims will be shortlisted for the Main Exam.
Final selection will be based solely on the marks obtained in the Main
Examination, subject to vacancies reported by participating banks for the
financial year 2026–27.

SALIENT FEATURES
The IBPS Clerk 2025 recruitment will be conducted through the Common
Recruitment Process (CRP). The examination will be held in two phases:
Preliminary and Main Examination, both conducted online.
The Prelims consist of three sections with 100 questions carrying 100 marks
to be completed in 60 minutes. The Mains exam consists of four sections with
155 questions for 200 marks and a duration of 160 minutes.
Negative marking of 0.25 marks applies for each incorrect answer.

OVERVIEW
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) organizes the IBPS Clerk Recruitment Exam annually to select candidates for clerical roles in 11 public sector banks across India. The selection process will consist of two phases: Online Preliminary Examination followed by the Online Main Examination. Only those candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination and are shortlisted will be eligible to appear for the Main Examination. The final selection will depend on the actual vacancies to be filled during the financial year 2026-27, based on the business requirements of the Participating Banks and as reported to IBPS. Shortlisted candidates will be provisionally allocated to one of the Participating Banks based on merit-cum-preference, while adhering to the Government’s reservation policy and administrative requirements.

Scores obtained in the Online Examination
- The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions (if held) will be normalized using equi-percentile method.
- Scores up to two decimal points shall be taken for the purpose of calculations
Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)
Candidates are now required to show proficiency in the local language of the state/UT they are applying for.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language is necessary.
- Candidates who studied the local language in Class 10 or higher are exempt from this requirement.
- Others must clear a Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) after the Mains exam.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidates must meet the IBPS Clerk Eligibility requirements to be eligible for the exam. Below are the IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria as outlined in the official notification. Candidates must ensure they fulfill these requirements to apply for the exam.
Nationality
A candidate must be either –
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1997 and not later than 01.08.2005 (both dates inclusive)

Educational Qualifications (As on 21.08.2025)
- A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.
- The candidates applying for vacancies of a particular State/UT, should be proficient in (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) the specified / opted local language of that State/UT.
- May kindly refer to clause ‘H’ (Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)) for further details. Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.
- Ex-Servicemen who do not possess the above civil examination qualifications should be matriculate Ex-Servicemen who have obtained the Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union as on 21.08.2025. Such certificates should be dated on or before 21.08.2025.
Note – All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a University/ Institution/ Board recognised by Govt. Of India/ approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies and the final result should have been declared on or before 21.08.2025.
Proficiency in Local Language
- Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak the official language of the State/UT for which they apply.
- Proficiency test may be conducted by the participating banks.

SELECTION PROCESS
The IBPS Clerk 2025 selection process consists of an online Preliminary exam followed by an online Mains exam, with the final selection determined by the performance in the Mains exam. There is no interview round. The final stage also includes a Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) to evaluate the candidate’s proficiency in the language of the state they are applying for.
- Preliminary Exam
An online objective test covering sections on English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability, which is qualifying in nature.
- Mains Exam
An online exam that includes sections on General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude. The marks obtained in this stage are considered for final selection.
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the official language of the state or Union Territory they are applying for.
- Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification, where their educational, identity, and category certificates will be checked.

Candidates must meet the IBPS Clerk Eligibility requirements to be eligible for the exam. Below are the IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria as outlined in the official notification. Candidates must ensure they fulfill these requirements to apply for the exam.
Nationality
A candidate must be either –
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1997 and not later than 01.08.2005 (both dates inclusive)

Educational Qualifications (As on 21.08.2025)
- A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.
- The candidates applying for vacancies of a particular State/UT, should be proficient in (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) the specified / opted local language of that State/UT.
- May kindly refer to clause ‘H’ (Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)) for further details. Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.
- Ex-Servicemen who do not possess the above civil examination qualifications should be matriculate Ex-Servicemen who have obtained the Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union as on 21.08.2025. Such certificates should be dated on or before 21.08.2025.
Note – All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a University/ Institution/ Board recognised by Govt. Of India/ approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies and the final result should have been declared on or before 21.08.2025.
Proficiency in Local Language
- Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak the official language of the State/UT for which they apply.
- Proficiency test may be conducted by the participating banks.
